Only 24 players showed up for the bar box tourney at the Cue Club in Vegas today, but the house still added $500. If there were 64 players it would have paid $2,500 for 1st, instead, $750. From what I heard from several players is that one of the players, Jesse Bowman, is the best bar table player in the country. He didn't fare so well in this tourney, race to 7, alternate break, Texas Express rules. After he was knocked out he said, "The whole tournament can have the 8, the whole damn tournament". He plays good, but has a bad attitude. I lost my first match after being up 6-1, then won 5 in a row to finish 4th for $150 back. I didn't play well, played too fast, but for being my first "REAL" tournament with good players in a very long time, I'm happy with the outcome. It felt good to play like that again, with good players, and having to run out instead of knowing that I will get plenty of chances if I miss.
