Last ball not dropped?

I was watching a video at ProPoolVideo.com and I noticed on the match where Earl Strickland and Cory Deuel play, the first game Earl never drops the 10 but still gets credit for the win. Why didn't he sink the last ball?

I thought I noticed this in other games too but wasn't sure. This time I'm sure of what I saw. Halp pls.

Video in Question:

EDIT****
And on the next ball Cory only runs to the 8... I'm confused.

Out of respect for eachother, they are basically giving eachother the games. Knowing full well that they aren't going to miss again.

It's called conceding the game, and not allowed in pro rules, except for the last game of a match. Locally, it's just a sign of respect. However, I usually make everyone shoot the last ball and I have seen some weird stuff happen!

I tell my opponent I am going to wear them down by having them shoot so many balls in, lol.

You can even slightly hear Cory say "that's Good" After the first rack.
haha, I have the sound turned down on it because I'm at work and I'm not supposed to be watching videos. O_O Don't tell nobody tho.

Out of courtesy, a player will sometimes concede that their opponent will make the ball or balls. Playing 9 ball if the 9 ball is in the jaws and a player has perfect shape on the 8 - His/Her opponent may concede those balls. This does not apply in all events. Some events will not allow players to concede the balls.

Very similar to golf. Sometimes putts will be conceded.

It always depends on who, what, and where I am playing. Sometimes I will just say "I just wanted you to have the practice".

I have seen and done a lot of stupic stuff. I have and seen players miss a easy shot after they placed the CB with BIH. Sometimes out of frustration because of my stupid and bad playing I will concede that ball just to get it over with.
