Last four on the A-side at the Stone

Earl wins it. Bucky put up a fight. Both players made errors. It was a nail-biter.

I think Earl plays winner of Hatch and Sossei next.

Shane and Donny are neck and neck at 7-6 at the time of this writing, Shane on top.

Is Shane shooting with a longer cue too? Everybody seems to be doing that these days, i.e., Earl, Shane, Brandon Shuff, et cetera.

Earl is still a big influence on the game...lotta long cues around....
.....but nobody's going for the weights, ear muffs, or the frankenfingers yet.

Shane might become the player of the decade....but Donny aint paying attention...
7-7

Heart-breaker for Donny. Double hill match, Shane v. Donny.

Jeremy beat Hatch. Earl plays Jeremy next, I think.

Did not like Donny's choice on moving the cue-ball towards the rail to shoot the 5 and then scratches. How unfortunate!

He had to either go into the cushion and bump the 6, or bump the 6 directly. He just under drew the cueball slightly.

I'm not a great player like Donny, but I thought considering the hill-hill aspect of the game, 2 balls left on the table, I would have never moved the cueball so close to the side pocket to get position on the 5. I don't know what I would have done, but I would have come with a different shot altogether. It cost him the match.

Hey, Shane made errors too. They both did.

That said, Donny is still in it to win it. He moves to the B side of the chart. So that's a good thing. :)

I saw the tail end of the match and it looked to me that the 5 passed the 6 to the top corner and was a little off of the rail. I believe that playing below the 5 and not flirting with the side pocket or bumping the 6 would have been the more prudent play, but then again that may be why I get the 7 for the cash too.

He didn't have the angle to play below the 5.
