Its getting time for regionals and some leagues nationals.
Just curious how everyone is doing or did?

APA sessions will be winding down. Here our regionals are going to
be in June. We are finishing the spring session over the next two weeks.
I am on thre teams that are qualified for regionals. Hopefully one of those can pull out a win. Last year my team won and made it to Vegas.

Weds night my 9 ball team won the first round of the spring session playoffs. We were behind and needed big points. I was able to
bring home a 19-1 won and give our SL2 a chance in the last match. She did great and pulled out the win. Normally I would not like to place that much pressure on a SL2 but I thought she could handle it and she was going to be going against a 3 instead of a 6.

Hows your league teams doing? Whos won and made it to Vegas?

Good luck to your teams

Always the different one, I play a singles 9 ball league with 100% payout, and for the forth straight year I will break even or better. I dropped three games to the fellow in 3rd the other night loosing 6-9, so now I am 3rd by a couple of games  Ah well, he has a few makup matches before the windup next week, maybe he'll get pummeled by someone :p

I hope everyone has a great time at their respective championships. I hear the sights & sounds of these massive events are almost overpowering, but then I'm just a timid prairie dog ... maybe next year.

Dave

With the troubles I had keeping a full roster on one team and keeping the peace on my other one I'm just glad to have finished the year. Even happier not to have been at the bottom of the pile too. Oh well, as I said in the other thread about canning players, it's going to be a clean slate next year.

My BCA/ACS 8-ball team starts playoffs this coming week. Winners of the league playoffs advanced to the Regionals for shot at winning a trip to the 2007 Nationals.

Next week, however, playoffs aren't happening because that's when the 2006 BCAPL Nationals are taking place.

So, we suspend things for a week, go and play in Las Vegas, lose lots of money, tell tall tales of our winnings, watch the bartenders at Harrah's throw the bottles around, get drunk, continue being stupid, eat that 1 lb hot dog at Slot of Fun, buy silly Vegas shirts, and gear up for next year.

Fred

My TAP 9 ball team isn't faring all that well. We're in next to last, mostly because of numbers issues.

My TAP 8 ball team has 3 point lead (5pnts/week) with 3 weeks to play. It's going to be a dogfight. We play the last place team next week, but finish with the 4th and 2nd place team. To pull it off, we'll have to play strong.

My APA 8-ball team had the worst session we've had since I joined the team 3 years ago. This is the first session we didn't make playoffs/triannuals in the past ten sessions. :/ And we were only out of the running for playoffs by three freaking games! :(

After leading the division for most of the session, my APA 8-ball team screwed up in the last two weeks and let another team finish in first place.

On Wednesday, we won the first match of the division playoffs and we play the second match tomorrow afternoon. If we win, we play the division finals next Wednesday night.

If we win the division, we move on to the regionals, later in the month. If we finish high enough at the regionals, we will play in the Las Vegas qualifier tournament.

It just seems to go on and on, in the hopes of winning a "free" trip to Vegas, that will probably cost me a ton of money.

From what I was told the "Ho" is now "Hooters Hotel and Casino" kinda ironic huh!

Not sure if the "ho" is still there but the Hooters Casino is where the
San Remo Casino was located. I believe the San Remo just signed an agreement to be managed by Hooters.

Our team won the regular season with a 30-6 points (rounds) record. We didn't do as well in the tournament and are now in the postseason tied for the lead. None of us are going to Vegas this year.

Cheers,
RC

Cancel my trip.

You crack me up Fred! I must agree Slots o fun was a short walk and a nice place to go.

On the thread topic I must say, my team did great and poorly. In the fall session playing in two different league we finished 1st (by a wide margin) and 3rd (by a small margin to the top two.) We won the Vegas qualifier and $2,000. Then we fell down in the winter session by finishing 2nd and 5th.

Everyone in town was talking about how we had a great chance of taking it all in the "open" as we didn't have to play in the masters this year at the Ohio State tournament. We simply flopped. Losing to two teams we should have simply beat. We had failed runout after failed runout. I have to hand it to our opponents they capitalized on our mistakes.

I just hope we have learned our lessons for the VNEA Vegas trip.

It's over, somebody sang, and I ended up 2nd after all ... so I'll be off to the windup in a 1/2 hour to pickup the $500 :D .... not bad for 20 weeks of matches at $10 a match playing a game I love.

Dave, breaking that long standing protocol of not responding to ones own posts ... and loving it :p

APA - Beginning of June is Tri-Cups which we qualified for again. We are already in line for Regionals at the end of June. Hopefully then Nationals again.

BCA - league hasn't started yet.
ACS- can stick it IMHO - here in the NW
