I think I remember seeing this on the Nightly News and it was some Santa Barbara Pool league or some crap league like that.

Aaaaah Skippy. What an appropriate moniker.

We'd be happy to have you in the SBPL. A league where (almost) everyone gets along. Players actually know the rules and know the true meaning of the term "sportsmanship". A league where if someone pulled a stunt like what happened to the OP, the rest of the players, on both teams, would intervene and correct the situation.

It's common sense and decency really. I don't know why I hear about this sort of behavior going on all the time in APA leagues. I guess it's because the focus of the APA is not for having its players improve their game, both on the table and off. It's for the league to suck more dollars out of its players pockets.

You need to pull your head out of your ass about the APA. Not all APA leagues are alike. There is just as much sandbagging in "your" league (BCAPL), as any other. Sandbagging occurs because BOTH teams allow it...no other reason. 25 years ago I had a 100 team APA league. There was ZERO sandbagging, because I outlawed it, and policed it, from the inception of the league. Smart league operators concentrate on promoting the positive elements of their league...rather than badmouthing the opposition.

Played this one night, with this new league member on my team. Handicap as low as you can get. Her turn is up, she breaks makes two balls, and a wide open table. Absolutely beautiful break. The other team's captain calls her up, and says that she has to re-break, because my teammate didn't shake her opponents hand. I was so dumbfounded that I didn't even finish processing what the other captain said, before my teammate started racking all the balls back together.
