league sandbaggers vs hustlers

so the hustler is our hero????? i really dont get what you are saying.

who's forcing anyone to play a sandbagger? it's pool whether league or for money we're all playing a game at our free will.

The guy facing the "hustler" has made a choice to play that person, and 100% because they think that they are going to hustle the other guy. The league player assumes the handicap system in place is legit, and the guy he is playing is what he is ranked. Completely different scenarios.

sc5 is back.

what are you the hall monitor?? Shut IT!!!!!! I am THE CREATOR, you wouldn't have been able to post your silly little comment here if it wasn't for me. Go make your own Thread, about Thread etiquette, which you apparently have none of!!!! Stick with the topic..

If this bothers you, you have no business playing in a pool league! It's not hustling to sandbag in a pool league. Most of the leagues require the players to sandbag if they want to keep their teams together, by incorporating the "23 RULE". I just don't agree with any of this
It sounds like YOU just don't like the fact that someone with a little skill at pool can make you their *****, no, i just don't like playing someone who doesn't half to work as hard to win, because they cheat. so you think you should break his thumbs. Of course first, you come on here trying to enlist some help to hold the guy down so you can break his thumbs. Gee it'd be funny if you jumped bad and no one stood up with you and the guy gave you a little whooping next. lol lol, did you really laugh out loud, are you insane??? it really wasnt that funny.. and, i don't need no one to hold no one down, i'll do what's necesary my self, i'm just from the school that says, if a man pisses on your leg, then you should shit in his mouth.

If you don't like getting beat by other players, either get better or find a smaller & smaller pond to swim in until you're the big fish. once again i just don't like cheats, i beat mmy share of good players.I'm just sayin'...... thats almost as cool as lol'ing yourself coughlooser

WOW DUDE,
You need to work on your anger issues:grin:
And always remember, arguing on the internet is like racing in the special Olympics, even if you win you are still retarded . . .

Goose, go ahead and play for a while without letting the excuses get the best of you. It can be tough to swallow a little pride or to think that maybe the other person just got lucky, but it'll be the best for your game. The sooner you take charge of the situation, the more you'll focus on your own game. Instead of seeing that 4 as a potential 6, you'll be the 6 wondering why somebody wasted a 4 on you. Do it or don't, it's obviously your choice. As I told you, one of my friends did that for years and stagnated until he started to change his thinking. He still thinks about sandbaggers, but he's taken much more responsibility for his own game and it has shown. Be the guy that gets better.. you can't attack knowledge and expect it to submit, you must accept it and use it. i hear and agree with this statement, my initial question which i hope is clear by now why do people glorify hustlers, but it looks more and more like people here feel cheatins alright. not saying this is your personal belief, honestly. i understand the importance of hard work, i cheated my share in school, but never at no ones expense but mine. and like i said before, if a man cheats me, especially out of my money, then there's gonna be problems, i guess unless it was Johny Archer the scorpion himself he's sooo dreamy,

I can get into a pissing match as quickly as anyone, but I enjoy pool, I enjoy playing league and I believe that most players want to improve. Have a good weekend. u2

"Wow", and it gets even weirder. All this after just a month.

If you don't like sandbagging. You may want to try playing in a non handicapped league, like APA Masters or a scratch BCA league. It seems only a few players will play league without a handicap, but for those who do, there's a chance to improve faster in my opinion. You may loose a lot at first, but when you win, you win heads up. There isn't much that is better than that in my opinion.

thanks, noted, i don't like sandbaggin, at any level of pool. i'd rather play a great shooter and watch him run out 7 tables on me, then have a guy hide his speed, to benefit at my expense. whether in league or for money.

man 1) i shoulda cracked the scorpion across the head with my cue for not showin his real speed and stealing my money.

man 2) oh, oh, i don't know, you had it comming, you wanted to gamble, you took his money, you thought he sucked, because he lied to you, you should have known better you had it comming,

man 1) f that, that punk is gonna PAY!!!

man 2) NO, LET HIM BE, John archer is so dreamy...

DoubleD??? in regards to you're earlier post, on another thread which you mentioned here.. in my example there is man 1) and man 2)which one is the Pu$$y, and which is the Man. I just wanted to get the opinion from a little girl. ,,/,, right back at yah

The guy must be the best sandbagger and judge of skill in the world to be able to deduce that you would dog the break.

You say that he was taking his time to make balls...maybe he just sucks and plain old missed or tried to play safe, neither of which are uncommon for a 4, in fact I know many players of that level who play too many safes because they know they can't make a ball.

Some people watch Mob Wives, too. :p The fact is that not everybody does things on the up-and-up and there will always be people that look up to them. The 'hustle' is a part of gambling. It's got a bigger part in pool due to the nature of the game(skill that you can readily see). Some people get upset if you mention their mama, but will hand over hundreds without a word. Others will start fights over who's quarters were up next. It's a strange world with strange people, we're just in it. There are many different types of hustlers and not all of them are looking to take you to the cleaners. Some have particular targets even.

As somebody else pointed out, hustling is one thing, cheating is entirely another. A hustle can rely heavily on the opponent thinking that *they* are the ones about to make a score. It's kinda cannibalistic like that, good gamblers eating the bad ones.

Eat The Meek

sandbagging is hustling, glorify the so called true hustle all u want, either way many of those who eat the meek, in the end lose their teeth.

mastayoshi, with all due respect, shut it. u were not there, i was. u did not play, i did.

but thanks for chiming in so late, and also ignoring the subject of sandbagging versus hustling. and why we put thieving hustlers on pedestals, when they reach a certain star status.

Seriously, drop the attitude. You're in New York, home to some of the biggest sports teams and biggest "celebrities" with the biggest scandals. If you want answers, ask the real hustlers. I'm done with this. Listen to what I said about making excuses, because now you're on ignore for your ignorant and aggressive attitude towards everybody. Good luck.

gambling in a casino? yes

gambling in pool , maybe a drink with a stranger in a bar, or 20-50 bucks with a friend I know.

in cards we play to win the most chips.

in pool game is played to win the most games. watch a pro tournament. these guys aren't intentionally losing. only the degenerate hustling gambler thieves do this.

I'm a apa 3 and will come to play you in queens for $50. We can be friends.

True, I wasn't there, but your story isn't very convincing. If the guy was really sandbagging, but still wanted to win the match, I am quite sure that he wouldn't let it come down the last ball. it sounds to me like you are just crying about a loss, which is a much bigger problem in pool than sandbagging and hustling combined.

As for the glorifying of hustlers thing, our society as a whole glorifies things that are dishonest and shady, its not just this website. Playing the straight arrow just doesn't make as good a story as living life on the edge. Of course a sandbagger in the apa is about the lowest rung you can be on as a pool player, so it's pretty obvious that nobody would glorify it.

Gangster movies for example are made about the guys who rise to the top, not the random thug that gets shot in the face in the opening scene. Neither would be considered an honest individual or good citizen, but it's easy to see why one would be glorified while the other would not.
