Since you want to spent under $400. That leave Dieckman Masse Cue out http://www.cuemaker.com, The best of the best. Check out Crown Cue http://www.crowncues.biz, sometime he has masse on ebay starting bid around $155.00. Then there Schuler Masse Cue, or Sleath[sp?]Masse Cue. Other might know someone else. Then you also can use a heavy one piece cue shorten.

Cut a shaft down, re-ferrule/tip it, add weight if you like. Get good with it, then drop a few more bills on a Dieckman, you'll be glad you did.

does anyone have any tips or links with instructions to masse? everytime i see a video i only see the bridge hand and i want to see what the stroke hand does and where its at.. thanks for all help

For very serious lessons on how to execute "practical" masse shots (soft control), as opposed to "entertaining" ones (power), I would strongly recommend watching the straight-rail and balkline players. They have perfect mechanics and basic form.

Frederic Caudron is the greatest balkline player of all time. Just watch his DVDs - lots of soft controlled masse and pique shots.
- Virtuoso of Billiards
- World Championship of 47.2 Balkline Billiards (18.2)

Those are DVDs that every cue sports player ought to see at least once. "How the heck can he do that!?!" will be the typical response. The DVDs are available from www.kozoom.com but I found that they were cheaper to order through http://www.i-billiard.com/

I think one of those sites has previews.

Quick fix on that Crown Cues link:

reload.....

Thought I'd pull this thread back out, since there seems to be a growing interest in artistic pool, masse shots, etc.. I'm sure there are probably even more great links for folks to post, now.

Don't listen to him.. he has squiggly stuff all over his pool table! And, he can't even shoot a straight shot. :D

J/K I don't think you can go wrong with any info Eric 'Wow' Yow or Mr. Jewett is giving. It's pretty much free lessons from those who are in the know.

I wonder if Crown Cues will have his Masse Cue ready for SBE in March?

Unfortunately, we're not going to be able to make the expo, this year. We're still catching up from all the medical issues last year brought on.

As for having masse' cues ready in time, we have been receiving more requests for masse' cues, so I have to finish a few orders before making any extras to show.

Mid-to-late summer is probably the soonest we might be ready and able to travel to a big event, this year. Cross your fingers....

Are there any specific events that some of our customers or potential customers might like us to attend after June? If so, let us know and that will give us some events to aim for, if possible. The closer to the center of the states, the better the chance of our attendance, although there might be a really big event or two further away that we might manage.
