Some of us take care of our stuff and some don't. Equipment is expensive ...I try to take care of what I own. My question is have your used a good quality leather conditioner on your case. Have you used.... Lexol, 303Protectant, Maguires or any kind of treatment. How did it work out. I'm thinking about using Lexol. Thanks. Frank

Use either Lexol, or another product I like is called Leather Honey.

Stay away from anything with petroleum products. ;)

Answer: No.
I have an original Instroke and have never done anything to it.
Exactly nothing.
It looks fine.
Point being, I don't think leather products need this endless babying that many people do.
Now, of course if you leave it out in the rain or the sun that's different.
But my case just goes from inside my house to my car to the pool hall and back.

9Ballr. I appreciate your reply....however I worded the opening post wrong. I'm only interested in case owners that have treated their leather case. I want to know what are the best products. This is not a survey of Do you or Don't you use a conditioner.

I agree with the Lexol... never tried Leather Honey, but if Chuck likes it, it has to be good.

I ride motorcycles a lot and race bikes about every other weekend.
I use it ever so often on my racing gear.
Usually it's my pre-season rituals that I go through, do the racing suit, gloves etc....
It's also good for the saddle on my cruiser but no need on the race bike.
So I use it about once a year.

Very cool. Enjoy and keep having fun....and be safe. The car drivers out there are worse than ever. But you already know that.
I have friend a owns horses...she's a sucker for nicely tooled saddles. I have it to ask what she uses to treat them.

Oh brother.....don't I know it......It's a nightmare and it's never been
worse since everyone has a cell phone and everyone thinks they
can talk, text, email and play games on the damn thing while they drive.
Friend of mine AND his wife recently had to have legs amputated,
he both and she one, because some 20 year old was texting his
girlfriend, they were supposedly arguing, and he didn't realize as
he's coming around a curve that he's in the other lane and hit them
head on, she was a passenger.
For 25 years they had ridden that road every Sunday morning to
go to a restaurant and eat their Sunday brunch and then they rode back.
No more.
Nicest people you ever met.

Sorry to hear about your friends. Very sorry to hear. I don't understand why phones (talking) and texting are legal. I don't get it. A lot of people out there do not realize how dangerous they are. Getting worse. You have the right idea. Race where it is safe and legal.
I put a Procharger on my 02 Mustang. Raced with a Mustang club at Cecil County, Md and Atco(NJ)...kept it safe and legal. I had Recaro seats installed..... treated them with 303 Protectant. Also used that on a cue case once.

What brand case do you have? Best is to ask the manufacturer.

Do you know if leather is vegetable tanned or chrome tanned? If you're not sure then applying the wrong treatment could potentially ruin your investment. I take my stuff to a working bootblack, someone who has invested hundreds in shoe polishes and treatments. Next would be shoe repair shop, people who are also experienced in dealing with all types of leather.

I would imagine its not much different than using clear shoe polish. Its a wax and shine.

BUT..... it doesnt do anything to put moisture back into the leather. I recommend using a conditioner such as the Lexol or Leather Honey, and THEN using shoe polish on top to 'shine' it up. If its a black case, black shoe polish, brown case, brown polish etc. If you like a rich glossy finish, after the color polish, use the clear and buff it well. ;)

So which one is the best the lexol or leather honey ?

I'm a car guy, and I trust Lexol for my leather interiors.....they make a cleaner as well, so if you want to go full on perfectionist (like I do) then the Lexol cleaner first and then the conditioner.
