A customer wants a new leather wrap.
When i removed the old leather wrap i saw that it was very thick.
No i have cleaned the wrap area but the former "clown" sanded to much of the wrap area, and my leather is fine and not so thick and now i am short.
Do you put tape under the wrap to fill up the gap or are there other tricks?

Thanks

I'd try and use some thick polyurethane to build it up...I've never had to deal with that myself but would try it...

I've heard of people using epoxy and even bondo to build up the wrap groove then sand in to the right size..

5 Epoxy

Yup, I did a Viking like that. Once I tore the corner of the leather up I new I wasn't making a penny on that job. I used 5 minute epoxy too. It was more like 5,000 minute epoxy after all the coates I had to put on. I was thinking there had to be a better way but it was what I came up with. I wince every time I start to pull a leather wrap off now.

ELECTRICAL tape!

Ok, just kidding.
I know one local shortstop who got the shock of his life when he found out under his linen wrap was black electrical tape.
He sued the maker. He paid over 2k for that cue.

i think 1mm is almost .040",which would mean the wrap groove is probably .065".you might look around and find some exotic skins that come in that thickness as well.when i get Elephant it comes in about .060" and i have to skin it.if you can talk the guy into springing for Elephant i might be able to egt you a piece that would fit.
