It's enough light for me on my 10ft table even so high up there im not gonna nit pick shadows, but the height can be adjusted to your needs
 
Diamond Light

My Diamond light is an older version that may have been mentioned and it has six eight foot bulbs. I bought 6 replacement bulbs with the highest intensity I could find and it does a very good job. Getting old so I need light!
 
Costco has 2 X 4 LED shop lights on sale now $25. They come with a pull chain and plug in cord. Can hook them up to a wall switch or just us the chain. Leave them as they are of build a shade around them. Cheap and easy table light.

I have two of them over my table and they are great.
