I have an old Dufferin Sneaky Pete (17 oz) and turned down to 11.5mm that I could play with but use it for breaking. I had a collar added after somebody picked it up thinking it was a housecue
Not great pictures but better. It went to Seyberts for the conversion the first time. I was not satisfied so it went to Proficient Billiards for tapering the entire cure and refinishing. I paid twice so it's hard to come up with an actual cost. It was over $350 but less that $400 total. It is a wonderful player. Original cost in 1 piece form was $35. I bought 6 in 1998. (not for sale).
YesI assume that’s brown phenolic at the joint?
Thanks for the information. Can you give a bit more detail on your method of finding a good cue from the vibrations..Billy used a actual 1/4" steel wood screw for the joint pin ha ha which is very similar to the 3/8" x 10 pin that McDonald's McDermott cue use and many others , I'm sorry for any confusion .
As for my shaft I snapped it was a clean break that didn't completely split so I had both pieces and pulled it apart at home smeared wood glue carefully on both parts and wrapped it with rubber bands then screwed it together a few times wiping down the threads with a rag to remove any excess glue , yes if you look closely you can see the cracks where I fixed it ha ha .
Wolfy , to fix the butt section on yours maybe a challenge , a couple small flat screw drivers to spread open the crack may work to try to get the glue down inside I don't know it maybe worth a try ? Or find another donor butt from another cue .
My go to way of checking for a good bar stick to use was to hold it with one hand and then hit it with a open hand with the other it I felt the vibration it was a good shooter if not try another cue a simple trick I learned from two old school road players who I still miss visiting with and playing against to this day .
Is that a g10 radial pin on her?
What a beautiful and interesting piece of art. With the wild JP's to matchI just finished converting this Ebony/Holly Dufferin recently. Now my current player. I plan to change out the pin to a 3/8-10 once I finish the shaft.

It sure does. Thanks for the info.Basically the more vibrations you feel when gently tapping your hand on the shaft portion of the bar cue the more lively the hit will be , or more responsive if you will .
I hope this explanation helps .
Damn that sucks, bad luck broI think one is a marketed sneaky. Other LDMitchell sold me. Both are cracked near the joint on the butt ends.
This cap begs for a matching cue!I just finished converting this Ebony/Holly Dufferin recently. Now my current player. I plan to change out the pin to a 3/8-10 once I finish the shaft.

You can use MS paint to reduce the file size if you are on a Windows PC.I have a beauty with all original green leaf linen wrap aluminum joint 11mm tip 58 in. long when i post it says too big don't know how to fix it.
