I know people praise their lessons a lot on here, which is great... but I have a new name for you.
A friend and I decided to take a little pool vacation this past weekend to drive to NYC and spend some time with Ron Vitello (some of you might know him as Ronnie V).
I made a post a few weeks ago about how nice Ron was to help a total stranger out on the phone, and even called me back to ensure I was doing well with his information. There was something about his information and knowledge that compelled me to drive a total of 6 hours to see him. Wow, was I glad I did.
There are a lot of top instructors on this site - all of which are excellent from what I hear. I've spent some time with a few of them over the years and left very happy. Ronnie V is virtually unknown unless you know someone who knows someone who happened to be blessed to spend time with him. As a matter of fact, if someone on here didn't drop his name, I never would have found him.
My friend and I were giggling the whole way home discussing what we had learned.... everything from pocketing balls to banking and kicking. I've read a lot about diamond systems and never fully understood all of them or how to apply them to position play. Ron has a way to explain them in such a way where you remember them and feel like you won't forget it. I'm now looking at the diamonds to know where I'm hitting the 3rd rail instead on playing by feel. I can see why many of the world's top players hunted this guy down for his systems. This guy is a banking/kicking wizard. I couldn't believe my eyes... and the information is simple.
Anyway, this is just an unsolicited commercial for a guy who I feel was a 'steal' for what I invested. Anyone in this part of the country can't go wrong with a drive/train to NYC. I'm a better player today than I was on Friday, no doubt.
