Lets all dog on APA

I was playing a match recently and had to go to 5. When I was on the hill I broke down my break cue. The other teams's captain wanted to penalize me for "forfeiting". I guess the fact that I would not need to break again in that match seemed to elude them.

That's APA rules man....lmfao

They also make it appear as if you get a lot back in prize money. They advertise the big Million dollar payout. I haven't seen it. The one team that gets "sent" to Vegas doesn't even get enough to cover the expenses of getting there.

Totally agreed.

$7.00 to league
$2.00 to house
50 cents a week for dues
$3 to $5 per night for practice table time
Total = $12.50 to $14.50 a night.
Your beer and chicken nuggets don't count towards what the APA charges you. I've been playing in the APA for about 11 years now and this is what it costs.

$10 to the league.
$10 gas back and forth.
$10 an hour. 2 hours for $20 for practice. League doesnt give practice table.
4-5 hours a league night (sometimes 6 if you play last)=????

I like the APA. It gives me an opportunity to get out of the house and shoot some pool.

Certainly, it has some issues, but most everything does. There are things about it that I like, and things about it that I don't like. I wish I did not have to play low skill level players...I wish we had a few more points in the handicap rule, etc, etc

I have been fortunate enough to be a team member of different teams that made it to Vegas for 6 of the last 8 years. For a 60 year old man, APA in Vegas is TOUGH...not enough rest.

Right now, the thing that I hate the most is the fact that all of the money that we were given to send us to Vegas is TAXABLE INCOME!!!

Joe

Oh DMAN. But can we deduct nightly fee though? The f**kup sh!t about APA i guess. lol

dang you must be bored if you are resorting to resurrecting 5 year old apa hate threads. keep searching...you might find some more recent ones.:D

Totally agreed.

i just noticed to resurrected 2 of them. what a great sleuth you are.

i will comment on the post you replied to about the cost of going to nationals.

in a " recent " post...like 2-3 days ago a poster lamented the fact his bcapl team qualified for nationals and the players have to pony up 80% out of pocket for the trip.

in my one trip " so far :D " to apa nationals the lo ...paid for 4 rooms for 5 nights...7 round trip flight tickets plus 600.00 cash for the team. we also received an additional 350.00 upon arriving in vegas.

I remember the good ol days of dumping to help meet handicap, but not anymore. As a locked 7 I don't have to worry about dumping and can put all my focus and energy into raping whoever I play (nothing personal of course). There is a lot of crap that goes on, but competing and beating your opponent always seems to get the blood going, especially when they are a very skilled player. Intimidation does wonders in APA :).

Yeah right. that means you are an individual player and careless about the team works. And Have you ever come across to a situation where you are a 7 and your opponent is a 5 and you spot him/her two games. But your opponent shoots as good as you are if not better than you?

Aint that some SH!Ts....

HOw is Spimp careless about his team? If he's a 7, and a locked in one, and folks know when they are locked in, that he will never drop down to a 6 again, ever, he can play lights out, not worry about any handicap or innings, and just win.

Sounds like that would help a team, and a lot ??

MEHHHHHHHHH ! you guys whine too much. You're just jealous because you all know the APA is, by far, the best league and the best asset pool has. You guys just can't get there.

(watch out........ here it comes........ AVALANCHE !!!!!!!)

....c'mon now, I had to keep it goin.... :poke::poke:

Tap 25

TAP has always been a 25 pt team limit. We recognize the fact that its a night out with family and friends and teams in TAP can stay together much longer with their friends and family members. Since TAP has the 25 pt rule, teams in TAP tend to be of higher skill level then the APA. And since we do have players of lower skill level but not near as many as that league they tend to be better since we play call pocket and not any pocket. PLEASE...Not going to get in the usual cat fight on here. Just stating the facts. TAP is 25 and handicapped by Poolnet. We are the only league I know that can score our matches on Ipads, I phones and droid devives. Not a tabulator but a total scoring system from a player's device, to the cloud and then submitted by the TAP licensee into Poolnet all with a few clicks of the mouse or touching the device screen. No paper and pens. 100% green if the player chooses.

I have also seen other players shoot the 9 ball as the CB. Most of the time this happens latter in the evening when the players have had a few.[/QUOTE]

That reminds me of something very embarrassing I did just a few months ago. Although I do play in the APA this was in another league, the MegaBucks League. It was a singles playoff playing at of all places Steinway which is where MegaBucks have their playoffs. (BTW, I'm only a three in that league, a four in APA) In a race to 11 in 9 Ball we are tied 9-9 so whoever wins is on the hill. We're up to the 9 Ball (regular 9 Ball, not APA points) and my opponent gets the 9 Ball in and scratches so all I have to do is spot the 9 with Ball in hand. So guess what I did, I spotted the cue ball and hit it in with the nine. As I'm ready to mark the win my opponent says "look what's still on the table" and see the nine. Well, he won the next game and the match. Talk about embarrassing.
