I kind have a fascination with Pool cases and jump sticks. I, think, with Pool
cases because I feel they could be better with some changes:
All internal specs for a case would be in keeping with quality cases today,
or better.
A player that is somewhat accomplished might need the following
on his case:
1) Upper pocket with 3 sections:
a) fairly flat back section for pocket notebook
with a couple of pens. Easy to slide out.
Needed to write players names, adds, phones, or
billiard room info, or tournament info.
b) Pocket section for bridge head, gum, small candy, misc. small items.
c) Front flat section for business cards, sandpaper, flat type things.
2) Separate pocket to hold 3 pieces of chalk. Easy to get out.
3) Bottom 16" pocket for larger items. (I also carry items like
crackers and cheese packs in large pocket. Pool cue holder (2 cues).
Extra cigarettes. Cleaner and polish for shaft.
4) IMO, on reverse side of bottom pocket, 2 softer padded sleeve pockets for
Jump stick butts with quick velcro top closure.
5) The netting pocket where optimal for cell phone.
6) Fastener on outside for Pool towel if desired. Near the top of case.
7) Fastener on bottom half for Pool cue holder for people that get
holders for a whole Pool team, or a large holder.
8) Carrying handle - padded.
9) Carrying strap - very well padded to alleviate sore shoulders on big cases.
strap should be strong, and pad should be thick and soft.
(I have bought a seat belt pad to use before to have enough
pad for a 4 x 8 Porper case).
10) Some type of audible security device built in.
A serious player will probably have:
A) Playing cue with 2 shafts.
B) Break cue. Maybe Break/jump cue.
c) Maybe a 2nd jump cue.
A 2 x 4 version case of above would serve him/her.
The REAL serious player might have:
A) Playing cue with 2 shafts.
B) Backup playing cue with 2 shafts.
C) Break cue or Break/Jump cue. **
D) Jump cue.
A 3 x 6 version case of above would serve him/her.
** If player above has just a Break cue and not Break/Jump, he could
possibly have 2 Jump cues.
Then, a 3 x 7 or 4 x 8 version of above case would serve him/her.
This is what I have thought of without trying to OVERDUE it. What do
you think? Do you think Cases can be made where they are uptodate
with today's players and more convenient for the player.
