Lets have just one sticky

Why not have one sticky and below that have all of these other main forum sticky threads.

The reason I suggest that is when I come to the main forum half of the visible area is initially all of the sticky threads.

It would clean up the front page.

The single visible sticky could have an ingformative title.

Just a thought - What do you think?
 
I concur. I realise the importance of stickies though. Your sticky could contain links to all the other stickies so finding the information is easier.
 
I agree, for awhile now it's been that way... most of the fist page is full of stickies. AND it's only going to get worse as more "sticky" situations arise
 
Regarding forum rules stickeys:

1. There should be ONE sticky per forum with the rules. Not many like we have now in the main forum.

Right now there are 3 in the main forum regarding rules:
a. "Heads Up"
b. "Removed Posts"
c. "Forum Rules"

2. The forum rules sticky should be LOCKED. Allowing users to post is useless because now the rules threads become several pages long and no one is going to read them. If discussion is warranted, there should be a link on the locked thread to a discussions thead. And if after said discussion if it is determining a rule should be changed/modified/added, the moderator should edit the LOCKED rules thread. This way all the rules information is in one concise place.

3. The other sticky threads have been sickeys for quite a while. I personally have never read any of them, and I don't know if they shuld stay as stickeys. I have no opinion of the matter.
 
Stickies

The idea of a sticky is for it to be seen. Hiding it behind another sticky would be pointless. However I do agree that the stickies should be cleaned up and condensed as much as possible. Too, I think a few of the sticky threads could have the sticky removed and let them drop down the forum just to be revived now and then like other good threads.

One wish of mine is that there was a way to not have the stickies at the top of every page. They have served their purpose at the top of page one. They are just taking up a lot of space at the top of other pages.

I would think Forum rules, Heads-up & Removed posts could all be combined into one sticky. JMO
