Good comeback there!:D

I do have some very vague memories of Geelong, but that was a long time ago. Me & my folks lived in Rosanna, closer to Melbourne (I think!)

As for the cricket, all the best for the World Cup. You guys are due a win!!;)
Are you refering to that one-day hit and giggle game? Who cares about that? :o ....:p

There's plenty of gold at Soveriegn Hill, it's just not free (althought they put $100 of gold dust in the panning creek each day):). I should know, as I work there, and enjoy just about every minute.

Colin, big congrats on the 3rd placing. You deserve all accolades, both as a player and an ambassador for cue sports (just check out his video site!). I won't be going to Albury, but will definately see you at the Ballarat Open, and I'll buy you a beer(or 2 if I've gone well:D )

Daniel:D

Beer you say ? I've heard of that stuff. Isn't that the stuff that runs through the veins of Aussie pool players?

I might have to take you up on that offer :D

See u in Ballarat!

I don't like our chances actually. Lost 6 one-dayers in a row. Player's confidence is low. Simmonds, Warne and Lee out.

Go Sri Lanka!;)

Colin 'took 3rd place in the Aussie National 9-Ball Champs on the weekend...One of our pool players is ranked no.1 provisionally this year on the World Snooker Tour. (Neil Robertson). I used to play pool against him when he was 15yo.

:)

Congratulations colin.
Who is this neil robertson? Is he related to Natasha Robertson? Natasha`s dad was a snooker champion many years ago.

MASSIVE Congrats Colin!@#

I've always felt a bit of community with the relationships formed here on the AZ and other MBs.

It really makes me feel good to see people I feel connected to do well for themselves, and be able to share that feeling with us.:)

Good job!

I don't think they are related Vagabond.

Neil is a Melbourne boy, been climing the ranks steadily for years. Here's a story about his recent win in the Welsh Open snooker tourney.

Colin

btw: Thanks to all who have offered their congratulations and encouragement. Without AZ I probably would never have gotten serious about the game again, and now I hope to continue to improve and make some achievements worth telling the grandkids:D

And I like to be able to prove to any skeptics that my analytical approach to some aspects of pool, does not condemn me to paralysis by analysis. Now I hope no one gets me wrong, I'm no world beater, but I am confident of continual improvement, and do think I could compete with the world's best with a lot more hard work. And I think many here are capable of much more than they probably imagine.

Agh but if you can get that Ashes umpire to officiate all your world cup matches you're a shoe-in! :d
