When I get home I'll post some of mine on my playing cue, a JW. There are several reasons to get it done, but it has to me done by an expert to get it right.

Tiger did mine a few weeks ago and I am very pleased with it. Mine is just solid black. It looks and feels perfect. They can get it perfectly level with the cue surface, so it feels just like wrapless, but it has some tack. There is nothing else quite like it.

i was ever told by a cuemaker an improper application of a stack leather wrap stains the handle wood underneath.. and worse of all the stain goes into the wood at the forearm...but as said i hearing from someone else. May be just hot air but how about sharing if u ever hear something about it..?

I've heard of this happening, it's not just hot air.

Here's mine. It's my JW playing cue. Not too much to look at - I went with solid black to match the ebony. It was installed by Tiger a few weeks ago. They took it above the plane of the forearm and butt surface and burnished it down to perfectly level and glass smooth to the eye.

It feels wonderful - by far the best I've ever had. They're a little tacky feeling and they have a slight texture. I had an embossed leather which I didn't like anymore. I wanted a smooth feel. There is no way I would be satisfied with a different wrap after this. The cost is $150. It's not like any other leather wrap in terms of feel. I would recommend it to those who like a wrapless cue but want a little better feeling and some texture in their grip.

To sum it up, I originally selected Stack for the look I wanted. I ended up liking it ( a lot) for the feel.

I would like to add that when choosing a Stack wrap, it is easy to overpower the design of the cue and clash or compete with the woods grain and colors. For example, I could have gone with multi-colored black with red highlights. I chose to instead emphasize the glossy look of the cue.
