Nice one Darrell, I reckon that's gonna be one mighty fine cue stick when it's finished

I've been considering the possibility of upgrading the wrap on the player, from linen to a plain leather wrap as they're more comfortable to shoot with, but I'll have to see how the bankroll situation is 1st, before deciding on what to do :)

Any other "Omen" cue owners out there? :)

Sweeet cue sticks indeed

Thanks for posting buddy and hopefully you and any other troops will soon be back home again safe and well, instead of being lumbered out there in that dust bowl dungeon.

The Quilted Maple and Wicked Cocobolo are some of the baddest woods I have ever seen of it's kind.

WOW. All I can say is WOW.

Agreed! That quilted maple looks like sunlight dancing off of water. Just awesome!:grin-square:

Those Quilted maple and Cocobolo plain janes are awesome sticks

Quilted maple always seems like an unusual wood choice for pool cues, but it does look awesome and I Lazzerus pretty much described them to a 'T' :D

That is more might sick pair of cue sticks Highlanduh

The ring work in both cues as well as the matching JP's looks awesome :D

Is the lighter of the 2 point veneers quilted maple? :)

Is the lighter of the 2 point veneers quilted maple? :)

Yes, the lighter wood is quilted maple, but they're recuts, not veneers.
In fact, the cue originally had a quilted maple handle but, according to Pete, the original owner of the cue (Larry Nevel) felt it was "too flashy" and had Pete cut out the handle section and replace it with a linen wrap.
Pete recycled the quilted maple handle and it is now the forearm of someone else's cue.

After I acquired the cue, Pete convinced me that it "needed" a leather wrap. I think he was right.

Sweeeeet

I'm considering on having Pete update both cues a little by:-

- Restoring the decorative rings on the player
- Make a set of matching JP's for both cues
- Install a plain (Smooth) leather wrap
- And Maybe give the shafts a very quick clean and refinish.

Decision wise though, I'm on the 50 yard line about it and so, I'll see how things pan out over the next number of weeks
