Hello Everyone,

Leonard Bludworth has arrived at the Midwest Expo without Janice. As you know Janice is in the hosptal fighting a liver infection, heart attacks and several other sever complications. I want to buy a cue from Leaonard to show my support but I can't afford it.

Folks Leonard and Janice have been active and supportive of the billiard industry for more 30 years. There are dozens of cuemakers who can credit their success to Leonard's machines and advice. Dozens of poolplayers have prospered under Leonard's sponsorship when times were flush.

It's time we gave a little back. I propose that we hold a raffle and use the money to buy a cue from Leonard in the amount raised. I will put up the first $100 for the raffle. The tickets can be in whatever amount you all feel is best. I propose $25 or $50 increments. I think we should do it until the Saturday party so we can give Blud the money then.

I haven't talked to Mike yet since this idea just came to me. You can either pay via my PayPal account to davidmichaels@centurytel.net or to Mike's. I will cover all the PayPal fees for any payment made to mine and pay out 100% to Leonard and Janice.

If we could send a player to the US OPEN we can come together to help an icon of our sport.

My cell phone number is 479-857-4117 for anyone wishing to call me about this.

I look forward to your support.

I think this is a great idea, keep us posted with its progress.

John,
I'll be there Friday evening-Sunday afternoon. I'll stop by and say hello! I'm thinking about buying one of Bluds "poles", depending on what he has available. Are you set up this year? What booth number? Good idea on the cue purchase!
Talk to you soon,
Zim

Are the tickets $25 or $50 each. How about $25 each, 5/$100, no limits!

Maybe Just a Janice Medical Assistance Fund

I wouldn't be opposed to just setting up a fund to help with Janice's medical expenses. Let him keep his cue money. I know he is a little short right now, or else he wouldn't have left Janice. Just a thought. I am willing to go with whatever you all want to do. I have seen Blud help a lot of other people.

Don, I talked to Leonard about setting up a fund when we were in Vegas. I know what it is like being self employed with limited insurance for these sort of expenses - many thousands of dollars. I know that he would appreciate anything we do but Leonard is a very proud man and is not going to ask. If a fund can be started that we can be sure will get to him I know most folks would help.

Somebody set it up and I'll kick in a Franklin.

Start a new thread so we know it is going.

Later, Pel

Purd,

Blud doesn't want charity. He probably doesn't want me to do this. I think that since he is such a frequent contributer then we should trade him the money raised for a cue. Then we all win.

Okay, here's what I propose:

Tickets are $25ea or 5 for $100. John B and Mike H will be the coordinators and make a list of everyone's tickets and numbers. The raffle will be run til Saturday Night when it will be drawn and the result published here. The winner gets to have a credit in the amount of the raffle for a Bludworth cue at full retail. The credit can be applied towards any cue or cue work at any value and will never expire as long as Blud is around to do cue work and make cues.

If you pay via paypal please email me as well at jb@jbideas.com If someone doesn't have PayPal I can also take credit cards over the phone at 479-857-4117.

John

We will be in Chicago Friday evening, my wife and I want to buy two tickets, $50! Where do I find you at John?

To Purchase Raffle Tickets:

PayPal: davidmichaels@centurytel.net (John Barton) OR housepro@azbilliards.com (Mike Howerton - AZ Billiards Owner)

In Person - at the Fury Booth this week at the Midwest Expo in Pheasant Run Resort in St. Charles, IL from John Barton OR at the ticket booth there.

Credit Card over the Telephone - 479-857-4117 John Barton's cell phone. This one is dicey because of the poor reception in the main hall. I will check the messages though and call back.

Credit Card over the Internet: go to www.cuecaserepair.com and start a repair ticket and order as many raffle tickets as you want. Each $100 worth gets 1 extra ticket.

Tickets are $25 each and 5 for $100. All money taken in goes towards the cue/credit with Cuemaker Leonard Bludworth for his wife Janice's recovery.

John

Just a thought and not trying to be negative, but what happens if the money raised doesn't cover the cost of an upper end Lucasi, let alone a Bludworth?

That's why John said, "towards a cue/credit with cuemaker Leonard Bludworth." A credit means you can add more money (or may have to).
I don't see it being a problem!

John, I have payment from D. Ty Standridge for one ticket and Pelican for 5 tickets.
