Let's talk chalk

More pigment in the blue. Darker colors look dirtier because they stain. Ever shoot with red chalk. OUCH, lol
We will NEVER make red Magic Chalk. EVER. Lenin would roll over in his Tomb ;)

I thought I responded and told you to contact Seyberts. I know they just got a fresh batch of green and blue :)

I don't understand why anyone would even have a red table (only acceptable reason for red chalk).

Because billiard stores sell whatever color cloth you want, and some folks like Red, Wine, or Burgundy. Oh, it looks nice enough.

But, I don't like playing on it staring at the red clother and using red chalk turns everything red and quickly. 10 times more than blue chalk.

There is a lot more pigment in red than blue. That's the reason Red cars paint fades faster. Oh, they will bounce back quickly when buffed out, but they will fade more quickly. Ever try to paint anything in Red? I did some accent stripes in my son's bedroom when he was little and holy shit, it took 5 coats of paint to cover Red going over just a white wall. geez.

I personally never liked red type pool table cloths for some reason. Makes it harder to see the 3-ball and just straining to look at in general. In fact, I think the only time I ever appreciate the color red is either on the US flag, a Corvette, apples, as an accent to black, or at Chinese weddings.

Dr. Dave did an extensive test on many of the top brands of chalk. His conclusion was that if you chalk every shot (which you should), Masters works just fine. I like Blue Diamond a little more, but was not impressed at all with Russian Magic. All of the more expensive chalks are better if you don't chalk very much-

This is the main thing. I have a bad habit of shooting multiple shots without chalking.

I painted a large master bedroom Red years ago. Never again. Took so many coats it was ridiculous.

I hardly ever see OB chalk mentioned. It seems to work very well, I have a few cubes and keep 1 in my case in the event that the table chalk has a hole that reaches China, I don't like blue ferrules. I also like that it is relatively rare, it makes it easy to recognize my cube.

Why people not mention top reason that makes Taom best. It reduces bad contacts close to 0%. I can play months and months without "clings" with it.
2nd best is because it is so clean it is actually giving cloth more lifetime.
That was mentioned also in later chalk Dr. Dave video too and he uses Taom but also say use whatever you want.

Used to play league a LONG time ago at a joint called 'The Wheeler Dealer' owned by a gal named Jean Wheeler. Everything in that spot was RED, looked like those old Western-movie whorehouses. The place was a lot of fun but every week you knew you were gonna have to clean everything you used/wore to league 'cause of the red chalk. Good times.

By 'cling' you mean what i call a 'skid' or a snooker 'kick'? To be honest i can't remember last time i had one on a shot.

A high percent of home tables are little more then decorator items. They don't even play pool. For a short time I bought and sold tables.

I would actually be contacted by people asking what I would charge to remove a table from a home they had bought. Usually I didn't even want them for nothing. Lot of crap tables out there.

Only Ohio State fans. Go figure.

Why wasn't Jesus born at Ohio State University? Because God couldn't find three wise men and a virgin!
