Libra - Unbelievable Cue!!!

This is a good cue. But I have never seen a Libra with a ivory dot in the pin. That is another cuemakers Hall mark. And it is absolutely positively a Libra cue!
Nick :)
Nick, most of the Libra cues had an ivory dot in the end of pin. This was not a cap on the end of the screw, but an actual cavity that was filled with an ivory dot. I've owned three Libra's that had this and have only seen seven Libra's in person in my 20 plus years of messing with this stuff. I totally agree with you on the value of this cue by the way. The last Libra I sold was about two or three years ago, about the same level as the one here, and it sold for less than 1200.00. These are real gems, but the re-sell is just not there.

I have only shot with one Libra and I still own it. It plays as well as anything I have ever used. My Libra doesn't have the ivory dot in the end of the pin but I have seen a couple that did. I don't know why they didn't stick with one design but I have seen 3 different pin styles by Libra just in 3/8-10. They also did some piloted joints I think.

Good luck with your sale Zach, you are going to need it.

I will check with bumper man tomorrow...and like I stated before I am the middle man selling a nice cue for a guy that has a lot of nice stuff...the cue isn't as nice as the one the web site...but did you see any others....???? No, I didn't think so...Also $3400 off the price of that cue is a lot.... so thanks...

Truthfully

I have no reason to lie. I might wind up buying many cues off you. The cue I sold was a very good playing cue. Cue addicts Sean used as his player for a while and he can play with anything. Mine was one of the only brass pin cues they made and very collectable. Funny thing is great playing has no value on a computer screen. I like that cue and because of that I made a offer better than most. I can't believe every one with interest didn't offer more! They usually always do!
I must have offered a little much for others to top. I guess all the collectors here that want a Libra own one. That could be why I had the same problem you are having.
Looking at a great cue and woundering HTF it just won't move.
Nick :)

spain blank

CJ Wiley used this cue for a while
No Ivory Dot on Pin
Butt - 15.3 oz
Shaft 1 - 12.2 3.8 oz ivory ferrel
Shaft 2 - 12.0 3.6 oz
Shaft 3 - 12.0 3.2 oz

I just had a Libra cue restored (I got it back on 6/28). Mine is 100% mint with two original shafts (in the 13 mm range) and the original ferrules. It has been represented to me that mine was the last cue ever made by Libra Cues. Before I had the cue restored, I played with it and was blown away by the hit. One of the best hitting custom cues I have ever hit, and I've played with more than 500 custom, one of a kind cues ranging in price from $900.00 to more than $7,000. I have several photos of the cue before the refinish and will be taking some next week. If anyone is interested in acquiring an historic Libra, please feel free to PM or call me.

Not very nice

This is not a nice thing to do here Mike. It is called thread Hi-Jacking. This man is selling a cue. If you were selling a cue and in his position I don't think you would like your add being used like this.
I like this cue way more.
The blank is not Spain but the veneer work is how you know you are looking at a Libra.
A guy walked into a local bar with the one I had and sold the cue for very little. Seems when they were made the cues didn't cost much compared to today. But that goes for every cue.
When this cue was made it probably was under $600.00 and as I said I am willing to double his investment.
I am still waiting to see the cue on Ebay. I would bid on it.

how can you tell?

Hay Sean

You know as well as I do.You still mad Marcus got your old player at a lower offer because I told him he could have it and would not renigg just to make the extra $1,000.00 you offered after I told him the cue was his.
Money isn't worth as much to me as my word. No hard feelings but that is what I did.
Any way I just noticed this cue has undersized shafts so I have no interest in this cue. But There is a guy at cue addicts that might like it.
Nick :)

My Libra cue will never be listed on eBay. I quit selling on eBay about 2 to 3 months ago. Way too many fraudulent listings.

Sorry, but I don't believe that the guys that made Libra cues were "trained by Balbusbka"...inspired by, maybe, but certainly not trained. If I were you, I would definitely pursue or have the cue's owner pursue getting some documentation from CJ that he played with this cue. That would be a HUGE PLUS for selling it and getting top dollar. Shouldn't be too hard....think CJ is still in Dallas. That is a very nice cue and not many people know much about Libras. Shame that the information I submitted didn't make it into this last edition of the BB.

Hey Nick, I'm not mad or upset that you wouldn't sell me MATT's old cue. And I agree with you 10000%....somebody is only as good as their word.

Thank you sir!
