I came across an old brunswick 26 1/2 and a few of the points have "Popped" and are lifting. I remember reading a thread where a cue maker stated this is very repairable by injecting glue underneath the lifted areas. Ofcourse I can't find the thread. So, who has done this type of repair before a conversion? What's the success rate? I realize this is probably too hard to answer without the cue in hand. Just looking for opinions.

its the small details
what you said will work in most cases, i have done a few titlist and they are all o.k. it really depends on how much the points have warped. i make sure the area under the points are CLEAN, then i use the steam cleaner at my jewelry store to get the wood a bit soft. then without and glue i use surgical tube to wrap them as tight as i can, start wraping from the back of the points and wrap forward. let dry for couple days, remove wrap and check to see how points are laying in grove, make and nessary adjustments, re steam, then saturate with tight bond # 3, getting as much glue under the points as you can, rewrap and wait 4-5 days until its really dry. sand, refinish.

I do not have extensive experience with Titlists but I have repaired 2 fairly recently; both turned out well...they look and good (the repairs are not detectable) with no problems so far.
The initial fit-up was not bad on either, so I lifted the points with a needle as far as I could, then forced in epoxy, clamped and when dry, proceeded with the conversion.
It was pretty routine.
Sure wish I could find a decent 26 1/2!
