Hello fellow AZ'ers.
I'm being drug up to Chicago this weekend - grandson in tow - to see a band called "Rush."
Spose to be gud. 👊🏻
Last time I was in the windy city, Christ had just left Chicago.
Like Elvis - left the building.😁

I could use some assistance here fellas. Where's the best tables and action?? Surely Chicago has some great places to play.
I'm game for the south side, if that's what it takes.
I'll just leave said grandson at the bus stop, pick him up on my way back thru. 😂

I'm sure things have changed quite a bit, so if any of you guys are familiar with the terrain of the 'where and when', could sure use some solid Intel.
As it stands, this trip will be more like the blind leading the blind. 😉🤦🏻‍♂️
I want my grandson to see the band I was listening to during my formative days and recall the excitement I felt upon first seeing Chicago's skyline!!
If I can reproduce just a smidgen of that feeling in him, it will all be worth while. 😉

For me, I want to see Geddy and Alex kick ass and take names - one more time!!!👊🏻
Neil is absent, 😫 RIP,
but I hear the stand-in can bring it - she's got the chops.
Thanks fellas.

More on this later.

Modern day warrior named Tom Sawyer, he floated down a river on a raft with a black guy. Wee doo wee doo wee doo

Yeah no, never heard of *squints eyes* Roosh. Sounds European and since they're Canadian, I'd say that's pretty close. She played with Jeff Beck (Requiescat in pace) a year before he passed so she definitely has the chops. She killed it Rush's first show in Inglewood. Pretty impressive when you think about her not growing up with Rush as a fan, not being a fan when she joined, and learned like... 40 Rush songs (no pressure.) No sense in being purist because Neil (Requiescat in pace) isn't sitting in that stool again. But personally, and not that my opinion means a thing (I didn't hear my first Rush song until 2002), I thought she'd bring excellent musicianship to the fold. You kind of have to if you're playing with one of the greatest bands of all time.

Not a Rush fan. Don't think Ms Niles quite has the fit of Peart who, IMO was just an adequate drummer. There are tons of prog drummers who'd be ready to fill the seat. I imagine she'll settle into some kind of groove eventually.

Chris’s and the original Surge are close to each other.
But there are many other choices.

If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice.

Have fun!
Just so happens that I just got to Chicago.
Funny enough that I am here babysitting my two Grandkids too.

Non playing trip (pool) for me, But I wish you a great visit.

Ignore the nay sayin heathens! Enjoy Rush, sharing with family, and getting some foreign table time in.
