Lil Help!!

I believe Skully (Geddy's bass tech) told Geddy about her, who was at the time doing guitar tech for Jeff. He setup their conversation. "Geddy and Alex are thinking about doing something and they thought of you. You want to talk to'em?"
Yeah I know :ROFLMAO:. Such is rock. Aaron Copland is said to have said, "There is nothing more serious than pop music."

They may have enough budget to keep flying the band, IDK.

That's like lightning striking twice!! What an opportunity to fall out of the blue.
She's got my vote simply bcuz
they let her play. One more day and a wake up!! 👊🏻
Nilles apparently has an elevator pass and fans fans fans. She does have a look to her. Like guys hitting the road, it's no joke to be a touring drummer. 1st impression, 50/50.

My suggestion is take along a couple pairs of foam roll up ear plugs , so you can hear what you're thinking about how much fun it was to see the concert !
For some of the concerts I've worked as a spot op during it I had ear plugs in both ears while I was wearing a Dave Clark headset to try and save what hearing I have left .

Enjoy the show and have fun !!!!
Foam plugs, besides being standard concert gear, make great audio tools. While protecting your ears they also level the sound making it more intelligible and listenable.

Peart, adequate?!? Um no. IMHO he proved that the idiophone is a compositional instrument and his contribution to music is beyond reproach. He is the original math rock drummer. And there is no doubt that Anika is Kill-ing-it!

This in the context of Rush dun exactly come up with Mozart. He took the quantity approach with a zillion sounds and in all fairness, power trios take a whole lot more crafting than extra glitz and odd constructs. What can I say? The critic angle is mostly hype to me.

Incidentally, the rest of the music world has been busy crafting the music of rhythm for centuries.

When I'm working any concert I make darn certain that I've got at least 2-4 pairs of foam ear plugs and that I have a pair of them in a pants pocket just in case the sound check starts early .

I lost some of my hearing in one ear when a speaker blew up as I was walking past it at a Blue Oyster Cult concert while I was working front of the stage security .

Hello fellow AZ'ers.
I'm being drug up to Chicago this weekend - grandson in tow - to see a band called "Rush."
Spose to be gud. 👊🏻
Last time I was in the windy city, Christ had just left Chicago.
Like Elvis - left the building.😁

I could use some assistance here fellas. Where's the best tables and action?? Surely Chicago has some great places to play.
I'm game for the south side, if that's what it takes.
I'll just leave said grandson at the bus stop, pick him up on my way back thru. 😂

I'm sure things have changed quite a bit, so if any of you guys are familiar with the terrain of the 'where and when', could sure use some solid Intel.
As it stands, this trip will be more like the blind leading the blind. 😉🤦🏻‍♂️
I want my grandson to see the band I was listening to during my formative days and recall the excitement I felt upon first seeing Chicago's skyline!!
If I can reproduce just a smidgen of that feeling in him, it will all be worth while. 😉

For me, I want to see Geddy and Alex kick ass and take names - one more time!!!👊🏻
Neil is absent, 😫 RIP,
but I hear the stand-in can bring it - she's got the chops.
Thanks fellas.

More on this later.
The name slips me, but it's a pure one pocket room all black, run and owned/by a white man who tolerates no BS and knows ALL the Chi town players., I was there a few yrs back, it's fun and safe and no bs or ''pants hangin down''. and the brothers are always barkin' at each other in a ''good way''. It's where Ek plays and I forget the skinny older black man thats there the plays for his living and a very good 1 pkt player. Also if your in the area, a restaurant called Russells BBQ off n ave. by Maywood park horse race track? My parents used to date there and the BBQ is to be remembered, been there over 100 yrs now.

Saw the boys in Tulsa in '81 during the MovingPictures tour. We had KMOD tickets and i could literally touch Geddy's mike stand. The first band 86'd so Rush played almost 3hrs with two breaks. My ears rang for three days.
I worked so many bars/clubs/dance halls, nothing works much better than stuffin your ears with a tear off corner of a white Beverage napkin, the ones I used to put under the mixed drinks to pick up the glass sweat.

The first tour for Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood or I should say the first time they preformed at Metra Park , the crowd noise was just over 140 decibels ! I was the main spot op for both Garth and Trisha , my first call was to pick up / hit Garth Brooks as he came up through the floor of the stage while playing a piano and wearing his signature black hat !

No ghosting or a slow fade in with the light ! So it was shoot from the hip after saying a prayer or two ! Ha ha
I made that shot so to speak 6 for 6 I was so proud of myself ! Ha ha

I also started wearing ear plugs under the ear muffs of my Dave Clark headset which is the same as what fighter jet pilots wear or commercial pilots .
