I have noticed a firmer hit after I installed mine. I use a Viking F-55 butt and a predator 314-2 shaft with a sniper med hard tip. I like the way it hits now and my game is better as well. IMO

I understand the concept that it can change the harmonics of the cue's hit, but don't think it will do anything for deflection. The one I tried did absolutely zero for me...

The concept of the Limb-saver has nothing to do with reducing deflection, only vibration. The Company that builds Limb-savers, also build Vibration dampeners for Shot Guns, Pistols, and many other forms of Firearms. They are located here in Washington State, and I have talked with one of their Engineer's about how it works and this is what he said.

When the cue tip strikes the cue ball an impact wave starts moving down the shaft and through the butt, at which point it reverses and moves back the direction it started from. The more flexible the cue the stronger the reverse vibration is and the less solid the cue feels. By adding a Limb-saver to a cues butt, the return vibration is almost completely eliminated which makes a flexible cue feel more solid. In the end I suppose that this may improve some ones game, because the cues hit feels more solid, but it is nothing more than that.

In the end I suppose it may be a good fix for changing a cues feel if you can't afford a different cue.
