Limb Saver

I used the LimbSaver w/ the Expanding Collet for my BK. I was very interested in the reduced vibration that you feel when breaking hard, and did notice that it was dramatically reduced, don't know about any "more accurate," hits, though. I was not real happy with the Expanding Collet, however, it kept loosening up on me and I eventually just gave up on it. I have a couple of them just lying around. If you have a cue where you can actually screw the LimbSaver in, that would most likely be a lot better, depends on model cue you have. A couple of things, the rubber bumper does tend to peel away from the plastic base and you might want to check to see if your case will be able to hold the butt with an extra inch of LimbSaver on the bottom of it. Hope this helps, good luck.

I agree with the poster who stated that this device was designed more for the break cue not playing cue. What I'm experiencing is a slight tingling sensation in the palm & heel of my right hand. I think this is coming from breaking hard. Maybe the LS would be the answer to help with the hard break. But of course would half to stand up to the rigors of the hits and hold up as a bumper.

Toesavers!!

Have you ever accidently dropped your cue on your toe when playing barefoot or in sandals? No problem when you are running a Limbsaver.
I had to sleeve my cue to fit the expanding style properly.
Does it stop vibration? Not really sure:scratchhead: But I love the way it bounces and it sure saves your toes.:thumbup2:
It does take the Tap Tap out of play.

They also manufacture a bow hunting model. We use to stock the limbsaver at cuebux a year back, we stopped when we started getting bad feedback on the collet model as well.

Our solution: A bit of electrical tape to make the collet fit tighter.

I use to shoot with one on a Joss JHC-05 , I couldnt notice much of a difference but it might improve your confidence? And for a $25 price tag, I think it adds enough to the cue to warrant purchase

Really, though, this is one of the truest statements that can be made about a vast majority of cue and cue accessories, I tell you what.

-insert Hank Hill impression-

As long as it doesn't detour or crutch your learning experience, well, I'm all for it. So many things may alter the hit of a cue, but sound mechanics, patterns, execution and overall awareness are paramount to anything that can be manufactured.

But if you can buy confidence, f-it, why not.?

(Albeit my own opinion, however. )

I put one on a Predator that had a hard tip and it totally changed the hit.

It really dampened the vibrations, almost like I had put a soft tip on.

I didnt care for it though.

1. Does anyone use this device? Yes
2. What are your thoughts on it? Just a replacement butt.
3. What was the reason that prompted you to buy it? Hoped for a smidge better control
4. Were you satisfied with the Limb Saver? Sure, as a replacement butt.

I have a real hard time accepting that "vibrations" that are going to effect the action of the ball after I hit it and these "vibrations" travel the length of the cue, through my grip and back **before** the cueball leaves the contact of cuetip applied to said ball.

....oh, and these "vibrations" are going to play hell with ball control.
Hard time swallowing that.

Why I didn't think of all that before the purchase? Maybe too gullible for my own good?

i got a screw in model and the expanding collet model that i'm not using if anyone wants to buy one cheap

I have been thinking about getting one just for the added protection to the butt of the cue. Think about it......the taller rubber would put more space between the finnish and the ground. Thus saving from those inadvertant angled drops when finnished shooting
