I just took in 2 cues today on trade and they both came with the Limbsaver X-1 Pool Cue Stick Stabilizer on them. You can find them at pooldawg and other places...

I'm just wondering if anyone has tried these out and what they think of them? I've never really seen them before or used them, so looking for a review on them. It says it helps with your break and english. Supposed to keep the tip of cue on the ball longer:confused:

Limbsaver is ok I guess, but Viagra and Cialis are more effective.

I think it might make a difference in feel but as for the claims
The stabilizing effect of the X-1 leads to:

* Dampened vibration of your cue stick = very possible but after the moment of contact it can have no effect so I can't see how any of the other claims can be possible.
* Enhanced energy on your break
* Consistent English
* Controlled spin

But to clarify I have been wrong before:)

Limbsaver makes good products. Mostly involving firearms. Do a search in this forum.

Yes they do. I have limbsaver pads on my rifles to cushion the recoil and on my bows to quieten them and reduce hand shock but it doesn't make my bullets or arrows fly any different

Limbsaver

I cannot agree with the advertising for the LimbSaver.

However, I do have one on my Meucci Oldie 4 and Meucci Oldie 3. My reason for using this bumper is to protect my points. I keep cues for lonnnnnng periods of time, and they are played.

I find the LimbSaver produces a bounce which makes me feel more comfortable that any jarring contact with the floor at the bumper will not produce popped points.

The reason I chose the LimbSaver for the Meucci Oldie 4 is due to the 8 points in the cue, and the cue belonged to my now deceased husband Larry Krebs. I, also, have one of these on my Meucci Oldie 3 which has 6 points. Both of these cues have been in my home for over 25 years. The points are as flush as the day they were created.

Again, I cannot agree with LimbSaver's advertising because, for the life of me, I cannot see how a bumper would have anything to do with LimbSaver's claims of how it dampens vibration, enhances energy for break shots, creates consistent English, and controls spin. As someone said above "snake oil".

But, it does serve my purpose in utilizing it.

Good shooting, folks! <3

For a couple of years back in the late 90's, a company with a similar anti-vibration pad tried to sell them for loudspeakers. In a much larger form. Claimed to seriously reduce cabinet vibration which is an audible degradation. Bowers and Wilkins (B&W) Loudspeakers of England designed and executed a cabinet design which solved the problem internally. Isn't the reason most players choose one cue brand over another is the vibrations in the cue "speak" to them? Tried the Limbsaver when it first arrived on the market. IMHO, save your money!
