Can you request a specific color of MOP? I want a custom cue with lime green MOP, like the ones in this cue here:

Would most cue makers be able to obtain green MOP?

Edit: This is confirmed to be MOP as stated by McDermott: "South Sea Pearl"

I thought MOP and abalone were the same thing?

Abalone are sea snails, and when used to refer to a material, it refers to the mother of pearl on the inside of their shells.

Looks more like manufactured malachite instead of MOP.
To answer your question ......there are few different options in colors of manufactured material. I think this green is about the only green color I am familiar with.

McDermott's description lists this as south sea pearl.

I'd bet my last dollar it is a type of manufactured pealescent plastic. Definitely has the malachite green look to it. I've never seen lime green in that material.

I have to agree with Martin on this. Below are examples of both Abalone and Mother of Pearl.

Awww, seems the general consensus is no?

If so, do you guys have any other suggestions for a similar color inlay?

My suggestion

I would suggest Malachite to match this color.
