Lincoln City this November 10th...

Hi all.

I've been thinking of taking a drive down from Seattle to Lincoln City (seems like it's about 4.5 hours). I think it would be absolutely great to see Sarah, Melissa, Jennifer and the others that hang out on here play.

This would be a first time that I've ever attended an event like this. Anything I need to know? Should I call the hotels now or do I have plenty of time before worrying about them all getting booked up?

Go for it, Paul. You'll have a great time attending a WPBA event. I'll think you'll enjoy the great play and professionalism of the ladies.

This might be a good question to post to one of the ladies in the "ask the pros" section.

If you go you will not regret it. It's a lot of fun the sweat the matches of your favorite players.

Advice? Right off the top of my head I would say if you like autographs go buy 15 or 20 cheap cue balls or 9-balls for signing.

Don't bug players for autographs or conversations before a match or after a tough loss. You will have plenty of opportunity for that later.

Jeanette and Allison are both really nice to the fans but they are usually mobbed so you might not get a chance to speak to them.

No flash photography (Duh).

Get VIP seats if you can. It's worth the extra money.

What Wally said pretty much sums it up (the Hamiltucky Hammer knows everything).

You also might consider volunteering to be a timekeeper if you will be there Thursday, Friday, and Saturday (Steve T. does all the timekeeping on Sundays). You get to sit right next to the table, with a great view of matches that are usually close. You will not however make many friends doing this (the timekeeper is the enemy of the slower players), but you will collect some very interesting stories on the foibles of players under pressure. Where else can you get the opportunity to be glared at by the top players in the world?
