any suggestions on how to make a linen wrap slightly tacky?

my hands are very dry and the linen gives me a slip-grip stroke...not good.

I prefer leather wraps but the linen looks good on the cue that I don't want to change it...

Play right after eating honey garlic chicken wings

How about an easily-installed/-removed rubber grip?

One easily-installed/-removed option would be a rubber grip (tube) that you roll on top of the linen wrap:

Here's a nice three-part video demonstrating how to install them (see post #13):

Hope this is helpful!

Rub the wrap with waxed paper. Turn the cue in your hand as you're doing it and start on one end and go in the direction of the thread till you hit the other side. The wax adds just a touch of tack to it and gives it a nice feel...

I seal them with the same finish I use on my cues, the cue comes out like a Muecci with a finished wrap.

Buff it with butchers wax. It will give it a tacky feel. Just do it as needed.

After I put on a new linen wrap and press the water out of it, I give it a shot of spray starch, then press it again. The starch give it a slight tacky feeling.

Sounds silly, but, try and keep you hands moisturized with hand lotion. Not that I have a chronic hand dryness problem, but I do like a little "snap" when I'm stroking a cue--this has really helped a lot. My hands don't sweat -period- That's why I usually, preferably, play with a wrapless.

The one drawback is not being able to use it just before you go out and play. Those results aren't what you're looking for, trust me.

^This stuff is awesome!

Side note: I've had the chance to shake hands with Efren and Francisco, and the one thing I really remember (besides acting like a freaking schoolgirl) is that they had super soft hands. Django even had like a manicure goin on. Not to say go to those degrees of detail, but your hands do exercise the fluid stroke. You might as well try and take care of em anyway.

wipe with damp towel, it will absorb a little water and not damage the butt because it is all finished.
