Linen Wrap

Good question.

Best answer I can give you is on the very rare occasion I have bought 1 cue rolls, it's a 50 yard roll.

Prather used to sell it like that, not sure if they still do.

50 Yards

Seems a bit excessive. 150 feet or half a football field! I was thinking more sound 35-30 yards.

Thanks for your input it is greatly appreciated!

I'm sure 50 is the max as it will vary fairly widely with cue diameter, taper and overall handle length. It is typically closer to 50 than 30 IMO.

FireBlade has it.

50 yards or approx 150 feet. Kind of hard to believe isn't it, but true.

I can't remember off hand what a one pound roll of linen is supposed to do. Don't take my word for it but 8 cues?

Some of you guys are serious math whizzes. Me not by a long shot. I took general math and that is all I needed for basic carpentry measurements. fractions, decimals etc.

I could measure the length and width of a leather thong used to do a stack wrap. If you would divide 24 thousandths, which is the approx width of a string of linen and then by the width and length of the stack wrap, you would come out to 150 feet. The actual length of a leather thong stack wrap isn't
that long so it would be deceiving by looking at it.

Believe you if I could see you wearing the leather thong for comparison purposes only!

Just kidding!

Hahaha. Wedge Buddy, I don't hang at those kind of bars.

BTW, a while ago I Googled the Cortland Co. It did state on the web site that they would make any custom line. I take it that they are still in business but have never ran across any Cortland line in any of the tackle shops that I have been in.

It is kind of strange but if it were possible, I imagine that Cue Makers would have also done the same and got them to custom make the old Cortland wrap.
If it were possible, its not like cue makers wouldn't be ordering a ton of one pound rolls of the original Cortland wrap line. I know that I would keep a few on hand as I like it muchly myself.

I tried to contact them twice with no answer. Looks like a recent or a web site that is kept up but who knows.

wow thats alot for one cue.... I would have lost every bet.... never would have thunk it was sooooo much
