While I am really big on individual pool lessons or coaching one on one, I thought it might be nice to have a thread that was designed to provide a collection of links where Internet surfers could obtain information on how to improve their game. When my blog is up and running it will contain some information that may help but that could be further down the road.

In the meantime, I invite all AZBers to post links here.

MY first contribution is Jimmy Reid's website where you can obtain lots of good information and if you choose to, you may subscribe for additional information.

Pool Coach - An Online Q&A Discussion Room by 10+ Professional Instructors

I'd like to add two more places, both are related to professional instructors who deserve credits and respect from people

1, BCA has started a new site called "Generation Pool"

In this site, you will be able to find an instructor, check out their site and learn a tip or two. You can also ask questions to players, instructors or even referees. We are working on helping them with our technology.

2, Pool Coach at CueTable Library
During the CueTable development, we are fortunate to make friends with a lot of professional instructors from organizations such as BCA and ACS. These people have gone through intensive training in teaching players of all levels. They have the knowledge and devotion to help people play better in a systematic manner.

Furthermore, together with 10 instructors, we have started a learning discussion room called "Pool Coach" in CueTable Library. It has a unique structure: anybody can ask questions, but only instructors can answer with advice. Our goal is to help beginner / intermediate players get the most professional advice directly from instructors, and to offer one additional educational resource on the web for instructors to share their knowledge easily.

What - you guys think I am dead or something. I have been posting great instructors on my web site for two weeks now. Take a look under Links JoeyA

However, after looking at some of the stuff on Dr Dave's site it has occured to me that it might be easiest / best to have one link to one good site where someone specializes in this stuff.

From what I have seen in the last few weeks someone could create a site or blog that was dedicated to what I have been calling "Great" stuff including instructors, books, DVDs, Videos. Seems to me there needs to be a way to rate this stuff.

I think that one of my next projects is to post a survey and try to identify the top 10 books. Perhaps start with a list of 20 and have people who have read the books rate them for what they learned.

My web site is about learning and teaching so some of these projects would fit but it sure would be nice if someone else had a site that I could simply refer to.

Like many others I am busy writing a book and trying to construct the PQ test. My plate is full. It could be a good project for a disinterested person. That is someone not associated with any school or instructor.

I noticed that Dr Dave lists pool schools, I list instructors. There are obviously other ways to do it.

If you start a thread here JoeyA consider having people list their top 3 - 5 based on what they have actually read. From that a survey could be constructed.
