Just wanted to share this little guy, It was my first functional art purchase I ever made back in 97', when I was introduced to the world of custom cues by Dr. Henry Miller, of Chesapeake Cues in Maryland.I remember saving up $5000 for an ivory logo point cognoscenti I wanted. I went to Dr Miller's house, he took me down the stairs to the basement where he had about 50 cues ranging from $1500-$11,000. I looked over all the cues and this Thomas Wayne was in a case that he just brought back from a cue show. He showed it to me and I was in love. It was more than I had to spend, but we worked out a payment plan, and 3 months later, it was mine. Funny side note, my father visited me during that time, and I took him to meet Dr. Miller. My dad looked at all the cues in the room and after about 30 mins my dad held up a cue and said "this cue, this cue here is the prettiest cue I've ever seen". Dr Miller replied..."that's you son's cue". He had picked out the cue that I had bought out of all the cues in the room, like father like son i guess. This cue was one of Thomas's first 4th axis lathe cues. He called it Wings II. In my opinion its one of the most highly copied cues of all time. Notice the little slivers of silver at the top of the points where the point flares out, I believe this cue was the first cue to have that design, countless cuemakers have used this cue as inspiration in there own designs. And for all you Black Boar lovers, Tony used this cue as the basis for his tribute to Thomas Wayne cue that I believe Tikkler owns, I use to live 5mins from Tony's shop in college park when I went to UM, I brought this cue in for some work and Tony held on to it for 2 weeks studying it. Then he made his tribute cue fashioned after this cue. Anyways... hope you enjoy...
