Little help identifing this cue

We got this on a trade and like it for a conversion but we're afraid to do anything to it until we know what we have. It has a weight block and a plug over it in the butt. Pretty cue, just dont' know any history on it.

Bob it is hard to say, please take some close-up photo's of the joint, the pin, the points, and remove the bumper and take a photo of the botom of the cue.

It is a cheap Taiwan built full splice from the late 80s - early 90s.

They were quite a few around here as National Billiards was an importer.

If it is still straight, it should make a reasonably good conversion. The
butt wood is Indian Rosewood, BTW.

Beyond the maple plug in the butt you will find a slug of iron
or even rebar for weight as the butts are often quite light in weight.

There is also a full length housecue version.

I call them Taiwan-ilist <sorry>

I was thinking along those line's, the joint look's to be aluminium. On the plus side it's perfectly straight and plays well.

I agree with Dale on this one being a Asian cue. That was maybe a $40 cue in the late 80's. The long bumper might put it a little earlier in the 80's. But it is a cheaper cue either way. Early to late 80's. IMO.
