But here is a solution, if you still dont have the money go pawn your hoyt cues if those are yours. And if you have NOT pawned off the cue or sold it to someone like some have said, then ship it back if you're not gonna pay.

So some future advice if you deal with anyone in the future, which will not be here im sure because of what you did. But... If you deal in the future make sure you follow these steps.

STEPS:

1. Talk to the person about payment.
2. Have the payment BEFORE you even make a deal.
3. Pay what you OWE before item gets shipped.
4. When payment goes through you get product
5. Enjoy product

Guy, Advice to you for next time, setup deals and what not, through something that gives you receipts and direct payment. I think you can set up invoices and what not on paypal. but now a days trusting people is very difficult. Still hope you get either your money or the cue back.

Here is a free advice for life:
If you don't have money for rent don't be looking for $400 pool cues and use a house stick!!!

Don't want to get into anybody's pocket but if times are tough then pool cues and other luxuries should not be on your mind, and yes pool cues are luxuries.

Now man up, send the money and ban yourself from the wanted/for sale section...

Sorry to everyone i have pissed off with this transaction. If have talked to guycrunch and the money order has been sent today for the cue. I should have paid for the cue before he sent it to me. He was only trying to see if i liked it before i bought it. It was my fault that i didnt pay guy soon enough. The economy is pretty bad for my business right now, no excuse, i should have paid him sooner. Sorry guy, thanks for the cue.

Guy thanks for the kind words, the money order has been sent. I did learn alot from this and will never do it again. I handled it the wrong way. Hopefully we can meet and laugh about this in the future.

well, this is reminding me of march when i first sent him the cue and he said he would send me a check right away.

on friday july 31 he said the check was made out and he was on his way to mail it. on wednesday august 5 he told someone else he mailed the check that day. it's now august 17 and still no payment of any kind. and what makes me really disappointed is no communication from him at all. so i guess i'll start sending the wanted flyers to all the local pool rooms. and it has been suggested that a local little rock tv station might air this as well, i will start looking into it. i asked my contact to relay to winne2tough that i will pay to have the cue sent back so he doesn't have to spend any money.

i know times are tough and as i said i would have been happy even if he just started making small payments but this has gone on long enough. anyone who has dealt with me knows i like to send out the product first to make sure the buyer is happy, that's the way i was taught. it's too bad that this is the first time something like this has happened. thank you all for your support.

Guy is a really nice guy. He sent me a cue without any payment. I feel really bad about all this and he is being paid. I just finished remodeling a bathroom the other day and im waiting on the check to clear. I talked to guy today and reassured him that im paying him in full for the cue in about a week. Recently i wanted to send him half the payment but i had to pay rent. Just a week ago business just started to pick back up. Im a handyman and for about two months i barely got by, and fell behind on bills. Like i said im waiting on a five thousand dollar check to clear with my bank and guy is going to be paid. Again everyone i love az and im not a bad guy. I dont appreciate the threats, and i have no excuse for my actions. All i can say is that i love the cue and wanted it very bad and should have paid guy sooner. Hopefully within a week or two my reputation can be fixed in az. Did not mean for all this to blow up just had a hard time lately with money. Please quit with the threats though.

i am happy to report that i received a western union money order today for the full amount and jay has told me that at some point he will try and send me an additional $50. i want to thank everyone for their support especially one lady from the area who was very helpful in getting this handled.

jay says he has learned from this experience and will never let something like this happen again and i hope he really means it. i like to give the benefit of the doubt and figure there were some circumstances that led jay to this and he will handle himself differently in the future.

Some of you have different perspectives than I do. That's fine with me. It's what makes the world go 'round.

If you read the forums like I do, you would see that when people make mistakes, in spite of all of the brow-beating, quasi-threats and other chest beating by well meaning posters, most people seldom pay up.

Deadbeats normally just go away into the night. They don't get arrested, they don't get beat up, they don't go to the hospital etc. They SELDOM EVER PAY. Sometimes, they even just get a new identity and stay right here on AZ Billiards Main Forum.

Here is a guy who obviously did wrong. Hell, even the guy admits he screwed up. He finally does the right thing and pays up IN FULL. Guy is happy with the end result but you and others don't think he deserves any credit for settling his wrong. All he gets for the restitution is heckling and scolding from the majority of posters. Yeah, I think this type of treatment is really going to get a lot more people to come forth and do the right thing.

I'd rather see more people seeing the benefit to settling wrong-doings and debts.

While I can understand your point of view, I guess I just look at things in a different light.

One could equally argue that people with your attitude are pandering to criminals and letting them off easily, encouraging people to try to get away with criminal activity because hey, even if they get caught, they stall, they lie, they try to hide, they deceive again and again... in the end they can just do what they were supposed to do in the first place and you'll be waiting there with open arms again.

Restitution doesn't mean you get a free pass. THAT is the wrong message. Your reputation and trust takes a long time to build. If people want to steal and lie, they will be scolded and heckled for some time. If we send the message " it's OK to rip someone off if you need money, we'll forgive you later when you pay it back" We are encouraging the stealing and lying. Discouraging the act from the beginning is what we should be doing.

It will take Jay a lot of good deeds before he goes back in my green book.
