You better be careful :D Muratore is in great shape this year and he is really hungry ;) LOL

I think i am not the one who will be careful it should be Alcano ;)
Im not on the table. But you're right there, he's playing solid on this tournament. Defeating SVB (the hottest american player today) is no small feat. But again don't count out the heart of the champion.
Remember the Spurs against the Suns in the last 2 games? ;)

He has to be in the best shape of his life then because even IF he beats Alcano, there is STILL Dennis Orcullo (at this point he is leading) to look forward to.;)

If i were you i will not be speaking too soon.. ;)

hehe, yeah, even though Muratore is having a great season (finished first and second in the tough eurotour field), getting caught in the brackets with the three pinoys can present a bit of a challenge :)

I can't sweat the matches today because of my work. I sure did have fun with this thread, until yesterday, though. I really enjoyed watching those blinking red lights! :D

I have a couple favorites in this event. I have always had a soft spot in my heart for Ronnie Alcano because I know him. I have seen him struggle, like the rest of the players on the tournament trail, sleeping four to a room to save money, et cetera. When he won the WPC, I was on top of the world, I tell you. So, if Ronnie could win this event for a second time, I would be a happy camper! :p

One other player I have my eye on is Marcus Chamat. Here's a diehard, through and through, professional player who has traveled the world to pursue his dreams. He has an incredibly charming personality, and what a sense of humor this guy has. AND he loves the action. Marcus has paid his dues, and I would like to see him score a big one today.

Ralf Souquet has the bulldoggedness to hang tough and follow through to the very end, no matter how long it takes. The cream always rises to the top, as they say, and Ralf sure does rise a lot in all events. It would not surprise me to see him win the whole shebang.

The young guns in this alternate break format may not have the patience that the older and more experienced players have to play a safety instead of going to the gusto.

So there you have it, JAM's tout sheet. Whoever wins, what a nice chunk of cheese: 60,000 balloons

This event sure has grown in popularity and size in the past years. I do remember five years ago, it was difficult to attract players to this event. I will bet you one thing, next year everyone will be clamoring to have the golden opportunity to compete in Fujairah. The coverage by Runout Radio has been marvelous and really helped me to get a flavor of this tournament. The sponsors and promoters are to be congratulated.

May the best man win! :)

Do not forget Dimitri the Swiss Giant, Jam ;)
As you said Marcus really deserves a big title. If he was not playing my compatriote, I would routing for him. To te other hand a revenge between Ralf and Ronnie could be great, too. Have a nice day.

How can I forget my darling redhead player. Why, he is playing Marcus right now, too!

Oh, my, this is a toughie. I kind of like Marcus in this spot, with one exception.

I have never been to Fujairah, BUT if there are gambling venues and other so-called amenities, the same kind they have in Las Vegas, I do wonder what condition Marcus Chamat is in today. That makes a big difference on a player's performance and what game they will bring.

When I am at events, I see what players go to bed early and what players stay up all night doing other activities. In the majority of cases, the players who get their rest and prepare for the next day will do well.

I am not saying that Marcus did not go to bed early and prepare, but I have seen him at many events enjoying what the venue sites have to offer until the wee hours of the morning. And I will just leave it at that! :o

noo it truly is a conspiracy against the pinoys

With all due respect, I don't think so. Niels drew his compatriot as well in the round of 32, and another match was against 2 british players. It was simply "luck".

And they were only 2 from Netherland in the last 32...

nor do i. i was being as sarcastic as i thought was possible.

Alcano wins 10 to 5. Will face the winner of the Kiamco vs Orcullo match. Winner of that match will be in the finals.

Damn I got my combination wrong, I thought Dennis would lose out to Ronnie but it was a toss up really.

I know Ralf is European but I kinda want Dennis to win, he's an awesome player.
