You're going to love this jumpshot!!!! lol by Tiffany.
And a pictue of Solly's Wendy Jans.

aaah thx scott :) was hoping to see some more pictures of her, but she still looks cute to me :D , hope she will do well in the next tournament in the usa.

On paper, it would appear that Ga Young Kim and Shin Mei Liu are the favorites here, but I'm picking Jasmin Ouschan to win this thing.

Jasmin is a great player whose time has arrived.

All three players are very capable of winning it, but I picked Jasmin to win before the start of the tournament so I have to cheer for her as well. I think she is going to have a breakthrough year, the scary part is she's only 20 years old. She is also the only female player in Austria to play in the elite mens league, with impressive results to boot!

My selection is based on her superb play at the 2005 BCA Open, which I witnessed first hand.

I think Jasmin demonstatred that she could sustain that level of play when she won the gold medal at the World Games. Fellow quarterfinalists in the current WPA event, Shin-Mei Liu, Line Kjorsvik and Yukiko Hamanishi were all in that field last summer in Germany. So were Allison Fisher, Vivian Villarreal, and Jennifer Chen.

So Nostroke is Jenn out? Is it single elimination from here on in?

Yep-It's been at the single elimination stage the last two days.

Ga Young is looking good, feeling good and breaking good. Looks to repeat.

Ga - Young Kim

It looks like the first semi - final match is posted, so Akimi Kajitani must have won her match but it didn't have the score posted as of yet.
First semi Ga - Young Kim vs Akimi Kajitani
Second semi ?????????? We will see.

In Saturday matches, Miss Ga Young Kim defeats Mikiko Takagi easily 7-1 and Jeannie Seaver defeats Jennifer Barretta 7-6 in a rather sloppy affair.

What is this race to 7 nonsense?!?

This is the world championship for christsake!

Yeah-Im with you. It does go to 9 in the semis and 11 in the final.

Miss Kim has made the finals, beating Kajatani 9-6 or there about. It was less than stellar performances from both players. MIss Kajatani better start working on her safe game as she had absolutely none. Miss Kim did not make more than 2 balls total in all her breaks, despite moving the ball around and trying different spots. It's funny how the break just dries up suddenly. At any rate, she needs to play much better in the finals if she is to retain her crown.

Update- S M Liu just beat jasmin 9-6. Started out with a 6-0 lead-Jasmin tied it up then lost last 3.

SML VS GYK in 5 minutes.

So much for my theory, for form has held. It's Ga Young Kim vs Shin Mei Lu in the final. The defending world champion vs Asia's greatest ever nine baller should be a nice match to sweat for those lucky enough to be there.

Jasmin's day will come.

Just another reason why the WPA has FAILED the world's pool players. If this is the way that the world's best women are treated then the WPA doesn't deserve a single DIME in sanction fees. Congratulations to Ga Young Kim for another stellar performance. Not only against a great field but also against somewhat crappy conditions.

Crappy conditions? Do you mean the air conditioning? I think I have an answer for why they did that. Air conditioning can and is used to help control humidity. Unfortunately the event organizers don't seem to understand that by setting the temp at a reasonable level and KEEPING the doors closed to the arena they could also keep the humidity level down. Of couse given the comments about lack of restroom doors maybe there are no doors to close.
