BTW...Who won the tournament?
Bernie Pettipiece took first and Rick Cosman took second,I took 3rd place, lost the hot seat match to Bernie,he plays really well, all in all I was very happy with how I played until I ran out of gas at the end as I only had one hour sleep since I was at the pool hall to 7 am and back there at 10am.I actually got in just now at 8:30 am,was at the pool hall since 10am.San Jose Dick is there right now playing golf and he is going on 24 hours of being in there playing!

Great time at Ron's tournament Saturday. Sorry for such a dismal performance
my first match with Ron. I kind of expected that after a 3 1/2 year layoff.
As the day wore on things got a little better. Wound up in a ring golf game
with Preacher Ron, and Jeff Thomas (sadly though, it was on a 9' pool table, instead of a snooker table.) which turned into a marathon session, with Jeff and I playing till noon the next day. Finally played my way into stroke a little bit. We called it quits about noon Sun. (25 hrs. total.)
Getting way too old for that stuff, but it was kinda fun. We wound up playing for $100/ten a scratch. Was surprised how good Jeff played. Spent most of the night playing catch up. Thanks to Jimmy Langston for comping our time, otherwise we would have both been loser. ;)
Hope to have my new '9 Crown III set up by next week. May start doing a little one pocket tutoring, and have some fun, invite partner sessions with the old home guard.

Dick

P.S. Congrat's to Bernie and Rick on a great finish. Preacher Ron, Jeff, and I go way back, but it was my first time meeting Bernie. Fine player, and a real gentleman. A credit to our game.
( by the way Lenny, Rick's last name is "Cosman")

You guys played for a long time there Dick,I hope you wore his young a$$ down.I know it was getting expensive per game,I think I left when it was about $70 a game or something,my guy pulled up after 3 sets and quit me.I have to say Dick your a trooper for 74 years old and I can only hope to be the same way if I live that long.I think you have more gamble then most anyone in the state of Arizona.I corrected Rick's last name,he is a nice guy too and plays one pocket well.I have to say I was satisfied with my first one pocket tourney results,3rd place was fine with me,it was tough field and a long day on 1 hours sleep. :)
