Live webstream now Efren vs. Benjie

If you want feedback - the video is grainy, small and the feed is not coming over clearly in china. Perhaps you might consider trying one of china's video services (if they have any like UStream).

@Bandido:

Congratulations kabayan! I believe this is the first
live stream from the Philippines! It's history in the making, kabayan!
And I kid you not!

I have personally seen how hard you've been working and all - since
day 1 of the Manny Villar Cup. You've managed to be there before
me (and i consider myself an early riser and all whenever such
competitions are held!) and at the end of the day, you are one of the last persons to leave the facility, too!

A hat tip to your energy and passion, Bandido!

Thanks John. I was just using a webcam and there were quite a number of journalists sending out articles to their newsrooms at the same time. I'll try and hook up a higher resolution video cam tomorrow as we were just testing today looking for the right angle to shoot from.

Sorry about that. We were shooting that with a laptop on wifi just to check the video lag and some angles. I'll delete that tomorrow.

Really just learning by myself....

...to later on show others in the group, BMPAP "make it happen group", how it's done and what benefits it can bring to all aspects of what we're doing. Our core group at the BMPAP is not tech savvy when it comes to the internet and how it can help us. I have introduced this to the group a while back but the enthusiasm from my collegues is for what I explain but still quite unsure if it is possible. LIVE webstreaming is pretty new technology being used in pool event coverage and virtualy unknown to most here in the Philippines.

I was explaining it to Jo Sy of Negros Billiards last night and he likes the idea and how we can reach out to other enthusiast in other countries. Plus, I said, "You won't need to fly to Manila as often just to watch our events and how your boys are doing". It can also help them pinpoint short-comings of each of his players thus help fine-tune and tailor training programs.

It's 7:30 am here, I'll start again with my prehistoric set-up at 10am.-8pm. Sorry about the quality but I'm sure I'll have a much better equipment to webstream to all of you next time.:)

Efren and Lee Van misses easy shots..however i dont know what ball because of the size of the screen but Efren finished the rack.:)

I hope you can add your own audio by the way.

But anyway thanks Bandido for the effort from the island of Dumaguete.

You could tap into those cameras near the table. Ask them for a video feed. ;)

Edwin, you'll get an A for even trying.

Problem is is that the USB connection for the video feed is in the OB Van and the DSL line is in the balcony overlooking the arena.

Efren just beat Lee Van 8-5. Finals in a few minutes. I also just bought a digital cam for the coming stream in 20 minutes.

Thanks for the update.

If your laptop has a wireless network card and you have a hotspot for wireless connection (wi-fi) near the van and if the network is free access without the need of a password then you could connect from the OB van.

In our school where i work we have wifi zone and its free even for those outside our school. :-)

Again thanks for the update.

The feed is choppy, grainy, and worst of all it is shot from 50+ yards away. All you can make out is when somebody is at the table shooting. You can't even tell who the person is, much less anything about the balls on the table. Thanks for the effort though, and I am sure it will be improving in the future.
