I must say that I don't have experience with all the vendors there, but I do know that Joe Blackburn and Steve Lomax do a fantastic job. They are always at all the big events that I go to and they always do tons of leather and real skin wraps.

Top Notch!

Leather wraps

Correct me if I am wrong but I believe that Steve Lomax does 95% if not all of the leather wraps at the repair booth. I seen Joe do linen but not a single leather wrap when Steve was in the booth.
I am sure Joe can do them but probably not as fast as Steve.
Just wanted to mention that.

Pooldawg8,......I originally read this post before going to SBE. I brought it with me and found Jimmy Reeves downstairs, and had him do some work on a cue of mine. He did a really nice job on my cue. I showed him the copy of this link and he immediately took it over to Blackburn to share it with him. He asked me to thank you and all the AZ'ers for the kind words and support.

Well, now that it is over and not gonna be much help. I had a leather wrap put on by a guy downstairs. Dont know his name, but he was right next to the stairs. the booth was called "? LATHE" .

the guy did a real botch job on it too, unfortunatly i didnt spot it when i recieved it, since we waited so long for him to finish it. We just ran out the door once we picked the cue up.

The guy had a drill head setup as a portable lathe, i should have saw this coming.

Anyways i spent $100 to get the wrap done, now i am gonna pay another $100 to get it redone. At least by a reputable cue maker that does a real outstanding job on leather wraps, he really knows how to hide a seam.

If anyone knows who this was please deter other AZ'ers to stay clear of this guy.

Lizard Wrap

I changed my mind and had a Leather wrap installed by Mike Gulyassy. I can feel the seem way to much and the seem is very noticable, is this the way all leather wraps feel and look?

Thats the ShaftMaster guy. Where you can buy a drill motor and stand for only 700 bucks, lol. He is a shady character ,,you should have went to either of the to booths next to him, Jimmy Reeves and Joe Blackburn/Steve Lomax , both are top notch .
