So between this and your other new addition, we'll have to see a new line-up of the family!

Beautiful cue Marcus. Congrats.

I WILL BE DOING THAT SHORTLY......I HAVE ONE MORE SURPIRSE THAT I HAVEN'T SHARED YET.

Awesome!

Oh, about....

Both of you!
That will probably be the sweetest playing cue Pete has ever made! Will you play a couple innings with it Mr Marcus? It might be your favorite of all your cues if you do!
I hope it is because you are one of the good guys for sure!
Tate you rule!

I don't know, I guess I don't want Pete, to stray too far from the traditional lakes and rivers that he's used to. To me, he's still the closest you'll ever get to a Balabushka, and I guess, I kinda' want him to stay out of the "mainstream" designs. For lack of a better term. I mean, I really, really, like the cue. I just hope, whenever I can get a Tascarella, I can get, a traditional Tascarella...what he's known for. Sorry if I'm being a donkey's behind right now.:p :D

I DON'T THINK YOU'LL EVER HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT PETE GOIN MAINSTREAM. I WOULD HAVE TO SAY THAT, YOU'LL ALWAYS SEE A LARGE PORTION OF PETE'S CUES, BEING VERY TRADITIONAL. BUT EVEN BALABUSHKA MADE SOME EXTREMELY FANCY CUES.

what is "milled veneers"?

Generally speaking, they are re-cut hardwoods done on a milling machine.....not overlapped or mitered softwoods like the dyed sycamore you usually see (ala Spain, Hercek, Szamboti, etc., etc., etc.). As such you limited by the colors of the woods used, but you can always add colors like Mottey/White do by using the dyed/impregnated holly.

Marcus, I'm curious.....did Pete do this blank? Really sweet cue btw.

SEAN,
YES HE DID. HE IS ALSO VERY PROUD OF IT.

I'M A LITTLE CONFUSED, I THOUGHT THAT RECUTS AND MILLED VENEERS WERE DIFFERENT. GUESS THAT'S WHY I COLLECT EM' AND NOT BUILD EM'.

Milled defines as, using a milling machine of some sought, hold the piece of wood on it's triangle side and remill for each hardwood. Put them in a forearm as a finished product.

Recut defines as putting a set of points, wait for it to dry, turn the forearm, index the forearm and recut for the next hardwood point. Repeat process for each hardwood desired. Much harder to do. But they both have the same appearance and effect.

Usually on the market neither get the respect or price they actually deserve.

TIM,
YOU KNOW ALL TO WELL HOW HARD IT IS TO PART WITH ONE, BUT THE CUES I PICKED UP HAVE MADE IT WORTH IT.

Marcus:

Thanks for sharing the photos.... I am starting to get a slight Tascarella bug in my blood. Now if I can get my hands on one to shoot a few balls....

Also: Going to see Fallingwater on November 5th.... that is up in your neck of the woods....

Their not veneers, they are points recut for each hardwood used.

SIMILAR BUT DIFFERENT. MILLED VENNERS ARE DONE OUTSIDE OF THE CUE, RECUTS ARE DONE IN THE CUE. BOTH GIVE SIMILAR RESULTS BUT THEY ARE DIFFERENT PROCESSES.

Pete Says....

he is not going to make Marcus any more cues, since he has too many already and he can only play with one cue at a time.
So the next 100 beautiful cues he builds he is going 'give' to me.
Regards,
Hal:D
