You can only pick 1 player for this.Simply put, name the 1 player in your area that you would like to give the "Amateur Award" to.Basically a player that is not pro,but plays extremely well and has proven his speed over the years.

I give the Joliet Amateur Award to none other than.........."Sarge"....Jeff Seargant. He is one amazing player and why he has never gone pro is beyond me! I have watched that guy win BIG tournaments time and time again without blinking.

I nominate Josh Hillard from Florida. He is the best player ever for NOT having played in months.:D

Is Jeff Sergeant not playing the APA singles championship this year?? I'm sure his reasons for not going "pro" is there really is no organized tour for male players at this time. There are a few small regional tours but for no more than they pay out it's not worth the risk to jump out there and solely play pool. Playing in events like the US Open and Derby is not enough to give your heart and soul for, and expenses are very tough to cover unless you can consistently place with the best.

I have no idea what his playing schedule is.I don't talk to him that much.
As far as no tour anymore,I really meant that he should have gone pro back when there was a tour.IMO he was playing his best back then.In the last conversation I had with him,he told me he doesn't even play big table anymore, just barbox pool.

J.s.

the reason jeff only plays bartable is because he has gotten so FAT! if he were two inches shorter he'd be a circle! but he plays OK for a overweight middle-aged man with bad eyes that is ugly as the day is long! I'm starting to think his girlfriend MUST be blind.

I think you are the blind one.Fat?? He isn't fat.I seen him in the last few months. He looks the same as he has for the last 10 years.
I think your comments here are coming from a very bitter place and are inappropriate. He happens to be a friend of mine.Taking shots at people under an anonymous screenname is cowardly.

That's the pot calling the kettle black.

Yeah, but at least we know his swimmers work......at least twice anyways..........

There was a guy in Jacksonville in the early 90s they called Pepsi Don. He worked for Pepsi (duh) but he was one of the strongest every day working Joes out there.

Down here in South Florida right now Jerry Calderon is hitting em really good.

Who told YOU about the swimmers???? No one was ever suppose to know!!!

KENTUCKY: Even though he isn't playing right now (to my knowledge) in Kentucky I would nominate Mike Blevins. Simply put: He's a player!
