Just kidding though . When you said Murphy's Law would present itself while doing tournament repairs, guess how it manifested itself?
The motor in my Chinese wood lathe (that SUCKS to pack),but had started without fail for well over 10 years at home, decided to shit itself a little :scratchhead: while I had the customer's shaft in it for a simple cleaning. All of a sudden, the spindle didn't go to the usual 1600 before I got my hand off the switch,it just sat there.
For whatever reason,if spun enough times by hand, the spindle would eventually catch and come on up to speed, but had to repeat the sequence the rest of the day,and kept business going.
Needless to say,it's being looked at,LOL.
However, your advice on 2 other points was tool-steel strong :bow-down:.
The very first time someone has handed me a shaft with a real Uni-Loc insert in it,I was prepared in the form of having the real deal pin to use as a driver for cleaning .
I also kept tight control over the workspace. I left no mess,I didn't let anyone hinder the work, and can say with conviction that everything I took with me in the form of supplies and tools made it back and didn't just disappear :yeah:.
I don't think I can thank ya enough verbally,a handshake and a beer or something similar is my style for such things if we ever meet
