I just recently had one of these shatter on me after using it 3 times, so I'm looking for another one.

As per the rules here, any answers please PM me.

Thanks,

Nathan Brugmann

I have 18 of them I was getting ready to post/offer.
Your timing is good. These are brand-new in tube.
$30 ea. shipped w/ins.

For the benefit of those that have asked and the OP in particular,
here is a pic of the gun-drills that I have.
.312"D x 6.5" drill depth x 8" OAL. Air-feed is from the rear but can be easily modified.
PM is fine.

Thanx, KJ

PS. My email addy in the above post (#3) is also my Pp acct.
Please do not send as a 'gift'. Biz is biz.

What exactly would you need to do to modify this and use on a deluxe hightower lathe?

Nathan

I don't own or use a Hightower lathe so I'm not knowledgeable to it's specifics.
First thoughts are that the drill could be mounted on the tool-post or the tail-stock.
I see that an adapter could be made that is held by the tail-stock chuck,
the drill screws into and the adapter also supplies the air.
Another method is to make a clamp to hold the drill and mounts to the tool-post.
A cap threaded onto the end of the drill supplies the air.
No need to modify the drill at all in either scenario.
I'm offering the gun-drill that you asked for.
How you choose to mount it is up to you.

The thread is 9/16x18. Yeah, I know. About as common as an 11/16.
At least it's not metric and the tap is readily available.

Any idea where I would find an adapter to fit the tailstock of my Midamerica lathe ?? I know you probably don't have a Midamerica lathe. My tailstock is just a 1/2" drill chuck. I can't do metal but I could make one out of phenolic. How well do you think that would hold up ?? I would think phenolic would "flex" to much and it would need to be made from metal. I welcome your (or any) thoughts.
