Looking for a cue maker who can do this and has what I need.

I am looking for a cue maker that:
1) has a bloodworth cnc machine with the original specs of the DPK taper on file
to re-taper a poorly tapered shaft
2) plug and re-tap the the shaft from 3/8x10 to a 3/8x11
3) and change the ring work to match my DPK cue. It is the old reddish brown linen. I can send a pic
4) have and replace the ferrule with an old WH yellow micarta ferrule
5) also discuss putting on a new wrap.

Yes, I can have DPK make me another shaft but this wood is special to me. I asked another cue maker but he was offended by question one,go figure. So no offense intended.

If the cuemaker that can do this also has old growth shaft blanks or the real deal lake salvage shafts I would be open to having a second shaft made as well.

Thanks in advance.

Why does it have to be a Bludworth cnc when there are many other cnc machines that can do the same or better job with the same DPK profile?

Great question. I suppose that is fine. It was mentioned to me that I should ask for that machine but as long as the end result is same or better, that's just fine.

If that shaft is already at final size, I doubt you can still re-taper that
to a DPK "parabolic" taper.

Beau,

Jordon had called me about his shaft request and I explained to him that Blud had supplied a bunch of taper G Codes with his CNC tapering machine. I thought I remembered David's taper was included.

Rick

BTW, David's taper is notated in his cue making book.

The hardest part of your request without seeing the ringwork, might be the material match. Every single batch of the natural linen phenolic has come out a different shade in color and with age it darkens up. So getting a perfect match will be almost impossible. Your shaft will have to be oversized to retaper to DPK specs. You might be just as cheap or cheaper to have a new shaft made. with all that you are wanting done.

I agree with Chris that it will be hard to get an exact color match on the brown phenolic.
Hard ... but I guess not imposable.

The only cue maker I know with a Bludworth CNC machine is Mr Arnot.

Any CNC shaft cutting machine should be able to duplicate that taper exactly if the G-code data is correct.
I take it you are wanting the exact code that was supplied with a Bludworth CNC machine.
Could Leonard Bludworth or his son supply that code?
