Looking for a cue repair guy in the Dallas-Fort Worth area

I moved to Plano about a year ago & finally picked my cues back up after 3 years. Im playing pretty regular now & need to find someone around this area that genuinely cares about cue building and repair work & is not just doing half-a$$ jobs to get the money. Right now I have a Blud & Stacey that I would just like to have the shafts cleaned, & new tips put on, but still want it to be done by someone that takes great pride in their work even on a simple tip replacement. Plus I would really like to start doing repairs myself & getting into full blown cue making one day when I get a shop built & the proper equipment & it never hurts to get in with the right cue making/cue repairing crowd.

Also I have gotten onto an APA league playing 2 nights a week, just to get back into the game & meet some pool players. Its alright for something to do, but if I hear the word "sandbagging" again Im gonna freakin snap, its ridiculous the whining...but Im not here to rag on APA, I have fun playing, but am really looking to get back into BCA, so does anyone know of any BCA leagues in the Dallas, Plano, Frisco, The Colony, Lewisville, Farmers Branch, Carrollton area. I have asked around but all anybody knows (or talks) about is APA & TAP.

There are a ton of BCA people on here, including myself.....we might even have an opening on our team, you never know (I never know cause I just play, our captain is too kewl)......I live in Carrollton, just on the edge of Plano....if ya wanna hit some, just shoot me a pm, although getting together with AZ folks is sometimes like trying to win the lottery, especially this time of year :D

On this side of town, BCA plays out of Billiard Den a lot.....Wizards and Clicks are also hosting locations....hanging out there on a Thursday night can help you meet some BCA folks.....APA Masters is actually a pretty good deal, if you can find a league....

As far as cue stuff, Cuephoric does a little of it, but I think he's in Reno right now.......if you have OB stuff, I think the OB crew does that stuff as well.....I've also been told the guy at Billiard Den does good work, but that is just second hand and I cannot confirm....I'm sure there are others, but bangers like me don't need too much cue work :D

For cue repair or anything cue related I reccommend Jerry Powers---Jerico Cues---
325-893-2393 near Dallas-Ft. Worth.

Jerry Powers lives in Abilene about a 2 hrs or more drive. Check with Ben at the Billiard Den if you just need tips or clean a shaft.

We do most things at OB Cues.

At first, we tried to stay away from most repair work, but have opened up to more of it lately.

The only thing to remember is that we don't really have a retail store, so you can't just "show up" during business hours and be absolutely sure that we are there. I mean, we are there 99% of the time, but that's not 100%. So, all we ask is that you call us an hour or two before you plan to come out and we can make sure that someone will be there.

Also, it seems that everybody wants to "meet us at the poo hall" to pick up and drop off work. That just doesn't work very well. As long as you can drop it off and pick it up, then we can do just about anything, and at a reasonable price too.

For cue repair and custom cue work in the DFW area I highly recommend Don Wallace in Arlington, Texas. He is certainly not the fly by night type, has over ten years experience working with cues and does outstanding work. On most jobs such as shaft cleaning and tip replacement he will do the work right then so you don't have to drop off and then come back. His number is (817) 301-4011.

Thanks to everybody for their help, gonna give probably a cpl of these suggestions a try.

Big Perm- will be shooting you a pm in the next few days, definately want to meet more bangers & playing a little more than just league 2 nights a week
