Looking for a phenolic bumper...

They're not cheap as it seems that there are a plethora of dimensions that people want and I'm doing the work on a manual lathe, not a CNC.

Happy to make more but no sense working for free.

I have white, brown, tan, black, and carbon Phenolic rods available at this time. More on order. I have about 15 orders in the queue right now.

If you want one, I need the OD, the overall height, the through hole diameter, the counterbore diameter, and the counterbore depth. I also need the color as well.

Appearance I guess. And it protects the butt cap? Nice job they look good.
I would of thought the rubber in rubber bumper was there so that the concussion of it hitting the floor wasn't transferred to the cue. That seems to be a spot that needs protection when some player aren't shooting well.

For myself the rubber is only to protect the butt on a hard surface floor otherwise the phenolic would be for cool appearance, I have a love for bumperless cues. Or when your opponent makes a nice shot and they get the Tap Tap...best to have rubber touching the ground.

I commend you for not giving anything away. I know how much the rods cost. Put shipping on top of it and expensive gets more expensive. The equipment to fabricate anything is more than my first car. Your work looks good.

I've made two from canvas phenolic.
Use a Makita router on the lathe to machine them.
Really, not worth the trouble.
They do look cool. Specially when you oil them.
But, rubber bumpers are so much more functional.

Agreed on all counts. Never tried to oil them, I just polished them with 12,000 grit and compound.

I made a flat phenolic bumper for my personal cue, had it for a couple of years. Coolest thing about it, when I was playing in a place with a hard floor I could stand the cue up and step away from it, it tripped people out.

Very interesting...

Ill have to try that, fun parlor trick. The challenge with these things is using them in place of the push in rubber bumpers with weight bolt diameters. Cutting a fairly long tenon to grab the threads makes the phenolic bumper a bit longer than desired, adding weight to the butt. Some folks are reducing the weight of the weight bolt to offset. A bit of a hassle just to get a phenolic bumper. But they do look cool, especially on the older shafts. I made 18 of these for one guy who just restores antique cues.
