Hello all,
I've purchased a GC II (might be a 1, definitely not a 3 or 4, I don't know how to tell 1s and 2s apart) to put in my home. Table is ball return) Table is in pretty good shape but I'm looking to have it refinished, refelted, pockets tightened, and installed. Looking for a reference or response from a pro interested in taking it on for upstate NY. Forgive any ignorance in the following, I may not use the correct terminology etc but here's what I'm looking to have done, willing to spend in the $1,000-$1,200 range, don't know if that is reasonable or not. Also open and appreciative for any suggestions from any pros outside my area as to how to choose someone to do the job/reference...thanks in advance... This is NOT something I am looking to take on myself :

* Refinish rails (the tops of rails are some type of plastic I believe)
* Refinish skirts and stretcher wood (this has been painted brown, I'm thinking strip down and finish? don't know what the wood is all the way down)
* Refinish all metal, trim, ball box area and pocket metal (I've seen what appears to be a powder coating that looks very sharp? they are currently the original silver finish)
* New rubber and felt for the rails, perhaps narrow the pockets slightly for a "double shim" type feel when playing, You can fit 2 pool balls in the pockets with room left to spare currently.
* Install table to completion in a first floor location. Only stairs are the deck (3 stairs) coming in. New bed felt, same as rails obviously, probably Simonis 860

Thanks

All I can say is that's a hell of a shopping list for the amount of $$ you listed, as I charge about $1,500 to rebuild the rails, size the pockets and recover/assemble the table, which is less than half of what you want done....good luck with your request:thumbup:

Thanks for the input, sounds like my wish list is a stretch for the budget, perhaps I'll have to scale it back quite a bit :)

Didn't mean to discourage your desires, but what you're really asking for is a fully reconditioned GC which if you were looking to buy one already done up to your desires would already have a price tag of about $5-6k.

Thx I'm not discouraged, I truly didn't know how much was the ballpark, I appreciate the response. Sounds like I posted to buy a Cadillac when I can only afford a ford focus :)

I'll have to see what can be done within my $ range. It's a nice table as-is, figured I'd start with looking for full re-do. It looks ok painted, the metal is a little worn. The rubber is pretty good. Can pockets be made smaller when rails refelted without getting new rubber?
