Looking for a router setup.

I am looking to attach a router to taig carriage. I know that Todd offers a router mount for the porter cable 7310. What I was wondering is what other people think of this setup and what do you use. I will mainly use this setup to cut rings, taper and cut points. I really like the Bosch routers because they just feel nice and they are not to expensive but I have never purchased a router before and have no idea a decent quality router from a shity one. Any info much appreciated.

I use Todd's router mount with a Porter Cable 7310 on a Taig style cross-slide. I offset my tailstock and use 60 degree dead and live centers with a lathe dog ... It's very sturdy and extremely easy to work with. I use it to taper and cut points as well.

The 7310 has a base that comes with it ... Just remove the base and use the hole to mount to the bracket.

I could take a couple pictures if you need them ...

Good luck with your purchase !

Todd has always given me great customer service and I recommend his products as you will see from my other posts.

Cheers !

Get the porter cable router mount from Todd and also get his add on to the mount to work with the Rigid laminate trimmer, it is much nicer and not as noisy as the Porter Cable.

The 7310 is getting hard to find but the Dewalt is almost the same router with a different body. The Rigid also has a lifetime warranty.

trimmers and mounts

Todd has a nice mount and so does deco cues for rigid trimmers.

I guess I shouldn't compare a Porter cable with worn out bearings to a new Rigid trimmer but I will.

I like the rigid trimmer better personal preference,

This is Todds mount

.
I looked I didn't see any picture of deco cues rigid trimmer mounts.
I will be using it tonight and can post pictures.
