We are trying to create action in the south again if anyone is interested in playing John Schmidt some please feel free to make an offer. We were hoping to start it off with the match with Mike Sigel but we have had no response to our post or our direct email to him. We were not picking on him but trying to play the game he offered. P.S." John told me Mike is a great person and player , however Mike did offer to play the one pocket and John would like to play."

I wish I could see this match; a while ago John beat Mike in a straight pool event and Mike really wasn't too happy. I'm not sure he considers John in his same class. Historically, their records are not even close but John shoots awesome sometimes and I wouldn't be surprised if he beat Mike (unless they played 14.1... perfect pool versus a guy who merely runs hundreds all the time). Ask John to jump some balls for you if you see him- he has the best form I've almost ever seen on these shots.

Mike ain't gonna like any game they play! lol He better bring a couple of extra cues if he does play.......In case he gets the urge to snap another one!

I haven't seen Mike play in a long time, but I have seen John play. I ain't no expert on pool........but I do know when I see a great player. And John makes the game look like it's easy. Mike mighta beat him 10 years ago. These days it is a whole different story!

Flop, I hope you didnt see it as a personal critcism about my feelings about Mike not engaging in a match over the internet. I didnt know Mike offered. If he offered by all means get it on. Im sure Mike has a lot of backers lined up anyway just the pleasure of seeing him in action again. As a matter of fact I know some guys in LA who Mike is very friendly with who have beaucop bucks. 10K would be a nice small bet for them. I just didnt think it would be beneficial for Mike to engage in public dares. He seems to be doing great with his business now and doesnt need to put himself in a situation where he could lose. Hows about a rematch with John and Alex P. I heard they had a great battle of 14.1 at the Derby. I would love to bet on that.

yobagua, were Mike and Alex gambling? If so who won what were the stakes?

and for the man backing/betting with John, I'm sure Tony Watson will play him a little nine ball for any amount. as well as all the Phillipnos and Archer, Shannon Daulton, and that guy from Oklahoma likes to bet real high too, i think his name is James Weldon. That should keep John busy for a while.

I think that is what he said up there.......was if ya wanna play give him a call. Just kicking it off with Mike if he wanted to still play.

I'm not so sure Tony is very eager to play John again after John emptied Tony a couple of years ago.

I think it was John Schmidt and Alex who indulged in a little 14.1 action. I heard Alex won after John failed to pocket his out ball. Alex has been known to play a wicked game of straight. I think 2 years ago he gave the Professor a 5 figure headache with 14.1 in Louisville.

I was there when Alex and John started that match at DCC. I thought Alex bit off more than he could chew. I knew he was a very strong player but didn't realize he played 14.1 so well. They are both excellent players and enjoyed watching them at all games. Sam

Derby City Straight Pool

Alex and John played a straight pool match Friday night, starting at midnight (after 13 hours of tournament nine ball). A race to 300 for $4,000. I'm not sure whose money it was. Match ended around 5 A.M., final score Pagulayan 300, Schmidt 298 (I kept score on the sidelines). The match had more twists and turns than you can imagine (I've thought of writing a description for one of the magazines). High run of 112 by Schmidt (to take the lead at 292 to 176). He had 4 more innings with open shots, and he could only make 6 more balls. Pagulayan was so nervous at the end he could barely shoot. Probably the greatest sporting event I've ever seen. The nine ball tournament while an excellent exhibition was just a sneeze. The straight pool was a 5 hour orgasm of pool excellence.

I'LL PLAY SOME ONE HOLE WITH HIM I'LL BE IN FL IN APRIL LET ME KNOW THE DETAILS

just because Tony lost, dont mean he wont play again. My money is on Tony in nine-ball, especially if he lost the last time they played.

OK, you get a post and an e-mail from a guy named "Floptit" inviting you to come to Florida and play with his boy for $10,000. So what do you do?

Mike isn't coming. The FBI is! You sent it to Michael Jackson by mistake.

In the future, please do not mention Phillipinos in the same class. Top Phillipinos can give the 8 to ANYONE and no one has to like it. Believe me, I've seen it. If you don't believe me, ask Johnny Archer how he liked it down at HardTimes Bellflower when he got the SEVEN from Bustamante. Embarrassing...

I think that the Phillipino players are great players but just because Busta gave Archer the seven ball and beat him one time dose not mean that he will do it all the time Archer is getting back to the top of his game and when he is there I like Archer getting the Seven from Busta.

IF Archer has any pride, he should play Busta even again.

I am sure they will probably play again. I would love to see it. If they play even I like Busta but it could go either way. If Archer is getting the seven I like his side of it.
